It has filter which is honestly pretty good at negating a lot of ices problems defensively. Obviously having resistances would be better than just not having weaknesses, but with recover and the monstrous 120 HP/def/spf stats it was shown to have it would be a problem to remove.
Wolfey is VGC-pilled. on a more serious note I think he meant that it's not super geared towards anything specific distribution-wise but I think he failed to consider the implications of a 100 speed special wall with 120 special attack. The only reliable counter I can think of is a specially bulky physical attacker, and I don't even know if those are a thing. prankster could also work if you have something to take it out before encore runs out?
I really loved Psysloth, such a cool concept and design. The fact that it is slow by nature, but benefits from it due to its ability is amazing. Also, giant sloths fit the fighting type perfectly.
Same. As an aside, I somehow ignored the second S and misread its name as "Psyloth" for a few seconds, and honestly, I kinda that name's added pun factor (though it might have a bit too much overlap with, say, Psyduck's). Any thoughts?
I think the name would be more pokemonlike without the second S because most pokemon names dont have the full name of thr animal in there name. But than there is again my nemesis PsyDUCK soooo maybe I qm wrong.
I think it's interesting how all of jaiden's designs have distinct silhouettes --> something most animators/artists probably know, while the concepts of wolfey's designs are a lot more unique xdd I feel like if wolfey did the concept sketches while jaiden did the final design that would've been really cool :D
Jaiden’s fire/fairy should be Pastella. It’s pastel-colored, and pastel is the Spanish word for cake which would fit with the theme of gen 9. I think the “Ella” makes it sound feminine and cute.
Fire + Fairy = Birthday cake is such an inspired choice, it needs to happen. Maybe call it Hearthday or Jamburnee. Or to go with the singing theme, Anniversiren. I also stan Permafrogst so hard. Wolfey struck gold there. And then the last one is giving me Heliolisk, I kinda like just calling it Heliolisk-J.
I figured I'd name each of these myself based on the drawings, along with a quick description and maybe a prior evolution, just for fun: 1. *Lotusloth* _[Fighting/Psychic]_ (evolved from *Clawyoga* _[Fighting]_ ): The Yoga Sloth Pokémon. A meditative sloth, that commonly rests in a Lotus position when not hanging from tree branches. Uses its psychic powers to avoid as much movement as possible and eat safely, with particularly powerful ones having almost complete control over a decent sized zone around them. Pre-evolution is much more active but learns, through parental teaching of yoga, how to use movements more sparingly to conserve energy needed to fuel its developing psychic abilities. 2. *Wyrmasq* _[Bug/Dragon]_ (evolved from *Drakover* _[Bug]_ → *Shyvern* _[Bug/Dragon]_ ): The Giant Moth Pokémon. A bird-sized moth with fear-inducing wing patterns and draconic features that belie its naturally shy and scared disposition around bigger creatures. Often puts on a display of aggressive stances and shows of power to scare away threats and boost its own confidence, but tends to flee fearfully if it fails to do so. Spends a long time hiding and growing before evolving. 3. *Natalfae* _[Fairy/Fire]_ (evolved from *Cakieday* _[Fairy]_ ): The Candle Spirit Pokémon. A fae candle spirit that often seeks pastries surrounded by happy individuals. Mischievous, but caring and likes to collect things to leave near parties. 4. *Squirmafrost* _[Ice/Poison]_ (evolved from *Detriticle* _[Ice/Poison]_ ): The Debris Pokemon. A hidden, tentacled Pokémon covered by a hardened shell of dark ice. Constantly grabbing debris and food and mixing them together within the ice to produce nourishment for itself as well as very powerful toxic material to expel from its shell. Very protective of its soft body and surrounding territory. 5. *Baskinimbus* _[Water/Grass]_ (evolved from *Newtrickle* _[Water/Grass]_ → *Tropiguana* _[Water/Grass]_ ): The Sun Shower Pokémon. A small lizard Pokémon that makes a living in large groups on and around lakes and ponds. As they grow up and evolve, some members of the species develop affinity for either sunny or rainy conditions. Clear sky variants of Baskinimbus have larger transparent areas on their limbs and tails for absorbing sunlight for energy, while cloudy sky variants have larger fins that can absorb and push more water. Seeing Jaiden, I assume, draw these on the spot was kind of incredible. Man, good artists are talented in a way I don't think I can fully comprehend... I admittedly have a pretty good imagination, but asking me to draw what's in my head is like asking someone who's fully blind and deaf to take you on a cross-country road trip safely. In under a week.
your descriptions feel so creative and developed!! i wish these were real pokemon, along wolfeys. the names for the evolution lines you made are especially satisfying
I've named the Fire/Fairy Faerfrosting. They're actually an ice cream cake, and they redirect heat to their candle too keep themselves cool. Not only does this allow them to thrive in climates where they'd seem to melt, but it also provides their means for combat, hense why they use fire type moves and are considered a fire type themselves. They love to sing and celebrate, but are seen as a delicious treat by many of the pokemon their songs attract, therefore they are always ready to burn anything which approaches them too suddenly.
The "There's a LINE tool in paint??? THERE'S A SHAPE TOOL???" Would love to see more of this. Love the ice frog lots! The fighting sloth is my favorite of Jaidens
the thing is, you don't get any better at art as you age if you're not actually practicing art. a 5 year old, 20 year old and 80 year old will all have the same quality of art with no practice
Genuinely excellent concepts from both parties. 👌 As a professional artist, I'm tempted to take a crack at remastering Wolfey's creations. They have so much potential.
Phenomenal pokemon, Jaiden, honestly blew me away. I loved watching Wolfey get more versed in the program as he went and how encouraging you were of each other. Wolfey's concepts were top notch as well
Jaidens last Pokémon would definitely have a move called “Camo Cloak” or something that raises its evasiveness. The unfinished green on its tail actually works as it feels like it can chameleon itself
I strugle to understand how a competitive player could design such monstruosities and be like "i made this because i thought the combination was interesting", dude, the sloth removes all the reasons to use any other trick room setter ever and the lizard looks like a much more anoying ammongus. Wolfey forgor that the enemies are gonna use thouse nightmares to XD.
The water/grass lizard is definitely a Toedscruel-esque version of Heliolisk named Hydralisk. It needs a special ability to 'grow' an additional head and heal for 33% whenever its HP drops below 50%.
I’ve been subscribed to Wolfe since the release of Sword and Shield, witnessing his development as a Pokemon CC with Alpharad and Jaiden is such a wholesome experience.
11:50 I thought to myself "where have I seen this before" and realized that Octilleri is actually a squid based on a tank as well. But they thought a tank pokemon didn't have a place in pokemon, so they changed the design to a more octopus looking variant. The pre-evolution of octilleri is based of a gun too. Great video as always Wolfe! You're my favorite pokemon content creator, don't stop doing what you do baby ❤
I'm imagining Jaiden's cake pokemon doesn't have just any candle, but a trick candle so the fire never comes out. Like if some evil human for some reason tries to snuff out the candle, it'll just keep coming back hotter and hotter and fights back because fairies are tricky like that. Wolfey's water/ grass could be really cool if it like sat flat at the bottom of swamps and mangroves with the reeds floating upwards. If anything brushes through the grass it'll like spring up and just grapple its prey like a venus flytrap or some other carnivorous plant. Or if you were trying to make it a lilypad type pokemon, it floats at the top of the water with the reeds hanging downwards. Maybe it could get some sea anemone treatment and a specific fish evolved to not be detected by the reeds to find shelter from potential predators.
It may be my frog bias, but permafrogst is unironically my favorite!!!! Genuinely interesting to see a competitive player's perspective on making fakemon! And Jaiden's creativity brings it all together, amazing work you two!
This was a super fun video, and it’s great seeing both Wolfey and Jaiden bust out their creative chops. I’m tempted to draw some of these because the ideas can make for some great designs with a bit of tweaking
I'd like to see you do this with Truegreen7, or any other creator who specializes in what makes pokemon designs look like pokemon. There's a ton of smaller ones out there who you could give some attention to.
When I saw this title and thumbnail I was like, “this is going to be good!” Wolf knows how to make Pokémon good mechanically, but is about as good of an artist as me, and Jaiden is a really good artist, and is also extremely familiar with Pokémon. I was right to think this. You two make an AMAZING team. You two could probably make a decent knockoff of Pokémon if you worked together.
As an artist this is for sure a fun thing to do once in a while, it allow you not just to enhance your creativity but boost your motivation to draw too. Definitely gonna do a fan artwork of one of the these creation or something mix of them haha. Hopefully we see more of these contents!
So about Jaiden’s water/grass Pokémon , I was thinking about how it’s based on a basilisk, and so I wanted to give tribute to its chlorophyll ability. And what does chlorophyll do? It heals you up under the sun, right? So since the word ‘helios’ references the sun, I therefore name this Pokemon ’Heliolisk’. I was really proud of this name, feels like a name that the Pokémon company would use for a real Pokemon.
I feel like the key to making a trick room setting ability work has to be to make the setter not incredibly slow. Give it like 50 or 60 speed so more pokemon can underspeed it. That should help at least make the pokemon itself not too strong. Who knows for its partner tho
I think making it set trick Room at the end of the turn would be necessary, since otherwise it’s existence becomes an instant and unstoppable speed control option on switching, kinda op since your opponent has to play around it even if you don’t bring it
The cake’s candle becomes brighter when near more positive energy. It’s name should be kēkidoru (a mix between Kyandoru, Japanese for candle, and Kēki, Japanese for cake.)
Great video idea!!! Would love to see more. Usually Fakemons are just design concepts but with Wolfey's ideas they can be adapted into Showdown. I don't know of users can submit Pokemon but it would be fun to see the concepts tested in battle.
For the last mon I thought you could call it Grasilisk or Hydrafight: Hydrophytes are the name for aquatic plants, so changing to Hydra to reference the lizard concept and the fact it knows Close Combat and is a physical attacker means phyte --> fight isn't too far off Grass + Basilisk is a pretty simple leap tbh I'm even imagining a split evo line starting with a Water only 1st stage lizard, which evolves into a Special attacking Grass/Water Grasilisk or a Physical Water/Fighting Hydrafight? adding Sap Sipper to that evo would be a big boost too
Okay but Psysloth is legitimately everything i want in a pokemon. Ability that sets up trick room, solid physical attacker, one of my favorite type duos, inspired design, everything is just *chef's kiss*
Personally I like the name Hapiiburnii for Jaiden’s Fire/Fairy mon. Imagining that little guy trodding up to a birthday party going “Hapii! Hapiiburnii!” just fills me with joy
If the fire-fairy type were in a game, I think it should only be found under two conditions: 1) You have a 1% chance to find it on all routes when you play the game on your birthday. 2) You cross breed a litwick and an Alcremie together.

I think the C-A-P program is still functioning so you can try that
For the last mon I thought you could call it Grasilisk or Hydrafight:
Hydrophytes are the name for aquatic plants, so changing to Hydra to reference the lizard concept and the fact it knows Close Combat and is a physical attacker means phyte --> fight isn't too far off
Grass + Basilisk is a pretty simple leap tbh
I'm even imagining a split evo line starting with a Water only 1st stage lizard, which evolves into a Special attacking Grass/Water Grasilisk or a Physical Water/Fighting Hydrafight? adding Sap Sipper to that evo would be a big boost too
I keep forgetting how good artists are at drawing, i get my mind blown everytime.
Are we sure a pokemon that can double it's speed needs spore?
11:00 I love how the peak of ice type to wolfey is ice types being able to turn into non-ice types LOL
This is a great idea. Can’t wait to see a potential part 2
Dude, Jaiden absolutely destroyed these holy.... I genuinely wanted all of these to be Pokemon. Huge props to her!
Trick room on switch in is the most broken thing ever but I really want to see that happen. Great drawings by both of you too!
14:33 it looks like a regional variant of cyclizar with his wheels uncurled into a tail. That doesn't mean it's bad at all however! it looks great!
I love all the designs, but the world is not ready for a fairy type scald yet.
Just be thankful that it's the signature move of something that didn't get Serene Grace.
Looking back from now, he drew armorouge at 1:50 with the fire psychic
you could 100% make this a series
Okay but Psysloth is legitimately everything i want in a pokemon. Ability that sets up trick room, solid physical attacker, one of my favorite type duos, inspired design, everything is just *chef's kiss*
Jaden's fire/fairy type looks like what would happen if you mix Alcremie and Litwick, should absolutely be incorporated when you trade the two 😁
Personally I like the name Hapiiburnii for Jaiden’s Fire/Fairy mon. Imagining that little guy trodding up to a birthday party going “Hapii! Hapiiburnii!” just fills me with joy
This was awesome! Would definitely love to see more content like this. Absolutely loved the birthday cake pokemon and psysloth the most!!!
I just thought of an amazing name for the grass water type basilisk lizzard at the end
✨ Grasilisk✨
Magnificent video 👏

can't wait to hear the stunfiskers cry over swift swim spore, trick room ability, and bulky toxic debris when thursday comes
I just realized the way I worded this sounds mean. it's not meant to be
Pokemon: Hey I'm too lazy to make a new pokemon so let's make these these are cool
I love Fakemon, and i also love WolfeyVGC and i also love JaidenAnimations, so i really love this video and i would love to see more of this!
"why does it have to be so hard?" that's what she said
14:45 this lizard is one of the inspirations for Inteleon
If the fire-fairy type were in a game, I think it should only be found under two conditions:
1) You have a 1% chance to find it on all routes when you play the game on your birthday.
2) You cross breed a litwick and an Alcremie together.
Candious (candle+melodious) for jaiden’s design pokemon number 3
Fools it was a can deez nuts fit in yo mouth joke(sorry unnecessary joke was unnecessary)
