Five Year Review: • I’ve Had These Ariat B...
I dont think it gets more American than reviewing boots in the bed of your truck with a us firefighter flag in the background.
and drinking a beer while you're at it.
@R S its a sad truth
Exactly how about purchase some USA made boots.
I'm just glad it's red
It's a disgrace to alter the flag. Should be red white and blue.
Now that is a *great review* on boots. Most reviews only talk about NEW boots, nothing about their durability and real life wear & tear. You show and tell about how they last, strengths & weaknesses in an everyday work environment. Thanks! You must have a tough job, I don't see how you could wear out so many pair of boots in such a short time. :)
thanks for the insight my fellow white american👌🏿
@@l8nightvibes wrong and wrong. They’re not white nor American those are just labels (experiences.) You’re speaking to another human being yourself.
I’m in a warehouse and I’ve worn through quite a few pair. Thorogood moc toes have taken a couple years of use for the sole to start separating and the sole has no traction now. My wolverines were worn out in 8 months, my timberlands lasted like a month and a half. Current wolverines are still good but hurt my toes so I’m going to with some Ariat Rigtek since they look similar to my Ariat cowboy boots I wear outside of work everyday
We need more videos like this that go in dept about the best boots for mechanics, I just started workin for my good ol buddy.
Been a Diesel mechanic for 20. Boots last 6 months to 1 year at best. Waking in shops and big yards stretch them out. Working in oil and all fluids make it worse. I wish they made a boot for
Mechanics. We roll around the floor and the top and sides get destroyed. Nice video!
Nice collection of boots. Thank you for showing the wear on the different boots, and for your opinion.
i have a pair of ariat sierra boots, at the begining didnt like them so much, but now are my favorite ones, they are so comfortable, the more i use them the more i like them, and they are one year old, and look like new!!!!!!!!!!!!! greetings from mexico
I like the comparison/credentials👍🏼
A+ review
Love my Ariat work boots, Had for 5 years and finally the sole came un glued but the boot was still in good shape.
A bloody awesome review, funnily enough I will be buying the roper round toes tomorrow haha. Got to admit that boots look 10x more better when worn down and not brand new. Can’t wait to wear my pair in!
Great video man and especially love the ending. Damn!! I have a ridiculous large collection of Ariat Workhogs in all different shaft designs & colors. All used from eBay. Just enjoy collecting them. All square toes. More boot reviews please. Thanks
Why do you prefer square toe?
First of all, Than You. Second, congratulations on an awesome video. Third, good feedback!
Very informative, with data points and personal information.
Thank you for keeping us rolling! I drive trucks & RedWings will probably last me a decade. I really feel bad for the shop guys boots lol
People can say what they want about wearing “cowboy” boots but I’m really not confined to just wearing one style of shoe. I got myself a pair of Ariat Work Hog boots when I was 13-14 I believe. Ever since then I’ve never forgotten how comfortable and solid they made me feel. At the time I didn’t really understand what I had because my parents could hardly afford buying me a shoe more than $60-120. These work boots were really like one of three shoes I’ve ever had that were actually higher quality *shoes/boots* lol
Even after stomping around in napalm by accident... (I forgot that it sticks to whatever) I made a huge fire that almost lit my shed up so I had to start putting out because I hardly had time to go get some water or whatever I had. (I was really ignorant for making napalm IK.) I was a curious kid back then and did a lot of shit I wasn’t supposed to be doing lol. They still held up until they became too small for my feet. *It was very hard to get whatever was basically glued to the bottom of my boots because the napalm was on the sole and it was literally dripping off, but eventually all the rocks and such came off.
My point is *THEY ARE TOUGH, RUGGED, HAVE GREAT LONGEVITY, AND THEY LOOK GREAT!* I bought a pair of Ariat Sahara work boots yesterday for $153 they were $169? Not as much as the work hogs but they are still very very comfortable. It’s been years since I’ve had a pair of “Cowboy/Western/Work boots,” I’m 21 now.
And in comparison to my Nike Air Max 97 ‘Hanshin Tigers’ they are probably more comfortable just due to the nature of what they are.
I just bought a pair of ariats like that I’m a diesel mechanic as well I had the same redwings I would get 3 years in auto on them and 1 year in diesel on them so hopefully I can get some time out the ariats so far so great thanks for the rec
Hot boots! Every pair! I would love to have some of your old worn boots! Very nice!
Wtf🤣🤣
Great review. Thank you.
Great review man i wear terra boots provided by my job there heavy but they last i get 4 years out of my general labor work boots and i do some very hard work.
I just bought the ariat work hog. They are pretty nice so far. And pretty comfortable.
Just picked up a pair of Ariats. Will see how they hold up. I work outside landscaping so different territory but great reviews.
This is what reviews should be like. Good job. I’m going to get a pair of these next
You should get a pair of twisted x pull on work boots next and compare
Thank you
I have those exact same boots. There are called the groundbreaker. Mine hit the one year mark at the beginning of April. I love Ariat now. Probably going to get another pair, but different model. I also have the same insoles and never replaced the, either. Very good review
You can buy the insoles for $20 love just being able to buy the exact one and not those after market ones
I wear the Ariat rambler (for fashion and function a softer squared toe so wouldnt recommend for anything past ranch work)) and they are still sexy fuckin boots after 10 months. Great bang for yer buck imo
@@societyreborn33 Would you recommend for factory use?
@@goonboys7926 basically for any kind of work that doesn't require steel-toe. Incredibly comfortable & pretty durable
What model of groundbreaker are they?
Great review brother
redwings and redbacks are pretty good for in shop use but once i got a service truck for equipment the dirt would get inside. i would have to pour out sand and the worn stitching would let water inside too. i got some ariat square toe steel toe boots and they are pretty good so far. my apprentice dropped a transmission through shaft from a cat 657 on my feet and they survived
Thanks for a real review
Excellent review
My Ariats that I wore for like 2 years still have a good amount of the tread on the sole. they actually are lasting longer than any boot so far. finally someone that does the insole like me, lol. sometimes I literally will have a little hole on each toe. I just bought some georgia boots for 99 bucks and I think they might be pretty good.
@@ConnorConzo123 I still are wearing them to this day. I'm a truck driver but I also do mechanic work at home. The outsoles are soft foam so they have a lot of wear on them, but they are still very comfortable and I'm about to get another pair. Mine are about 1.5 years old at this point. Honestly the best boot for the money that I have used so far. but if you do a lot of work walking around on concrete all day I think the out soles might wear out fast. I am most impressed by the way the heel is built. I have had problems where I will wear a hole on the inside of the boot and a hard piece of plastic will start stabbing my heal. the georgia boots have not done that at all, and that is actually my favorite part about them. Also the inner soles are not removeable and are still 100% intact and thats why i say they are a good deal and still are just as comfortable as new. sorry for the long story
Great review, thank you! Also look into knees over toes guy. He has great exercises to strengthen knees and increase mobility
Great review. A little maintenance would give the boots sooo much more mileage. Talking from experience.

@UC8LcLEHVrnz4gNJ0PBcoGqw like conditioner and cleaning the leather. Mink oil. Literally anything, dumbass
@@SaveOurSnipers seriously, a half attempt to get the 15w40 out of the leather alone would make a huge difference.
Diesel mechanic here. I got 2 pairs of bellville navy steel toe deck boots. Never cleaned the leather once. Idk what the heck leather they used, but i got like 4 yrs outta each one. The sole split at the arch before the leather failed. I still wear them sometimes. I just used carpenter stables to hold the soles together. I dont think they make them anymore in the same style. But theyre so good i even buy up used ones on ebay if i come across them lol
Very good boot review!!!
I have a pair of ariat work boots. Love em
I’m in my second pair of ariat and I really can’t complain. They last a long time and are really comfortable.
Will you send me a a pair of square toe steel toe I wear a size 10
Aristide groundbreaker!!! That’s my pic and absolutely love them..!!! I just use as a casual boot and mine arnt steel toe but super comfy and look great as a casual/dress boot with a good pair of Rock Rival jeans..!
Awesome video!
I have the same boots but in round toe. I’ve had them for 5 years and they are still good boots.
Nice man. They are great boots 👍🏼
I'm forever stuck on my Red Wings....but when I go back to work I'm gonna try some Ariats as I've heard good things before.
Damn, watching this a few years later I just picked up a pair of ariat work boots today 239. Thankfully I had a boot voucher from work to cover some of it. Shout out to good companies lol
Great review just bought mine just put a good coating of mink oil on the leather
Good honest review
Good review, from someone who actually uses boots for work.
Great video!
Nice video. I love my ariat boots. I would definitely recommend them. I would recommend Carolinas also. They are kinda heavy on the feet but they are comfortable. I would recommend lace to toe loggers. Also always use knee pads.
Good input. Thanks man!
Loggers plus being a technician=blown out knees and hips.
thanks for the review
Had bought a pair of ariat boots groundbreaker store had a great deal unfortunately they only had one pair of boots in my size I seen a small crease in the left boot didn't think much of it took em used em for 6 months then that's when they failed. My point is always look at the seam where the leather meets to sole if they are glued on make sure to double check if they are right other than that really great boot
Die hard thorogood fan after trying wolverine, danner, Justin and others. When I was a diesel mechanic with heavy equipment and dump trucks I would wear the thorogood moc wedge sole for sometimes 16 hour days without any foot, knee or back pain at all. Can’t say enough good things about them. And they lasted 2 years with every oil and solvent in the shop getting on them
Waiting on the two year review!
Definitely not enough boot reviews on UA-cam. I just got a pair of Ariat’s through my job. I work for a plumbing company working both indoors and outside. I’ve had pretty good luck with Wolverine boots. Had a pair of Timberland pro that fell apart in less than a year.
I’m a heavy duty diesel tech as well, and have my own offsite account and work in the dirt out of a service truck so I beat the living shit out of my boots. I used to wear my Ariats and love them but about a year ago I switched to the timberland pro boondocks and those have became my go to boot now because I beat the hell out of them and they just keep going. Still keep my Ariats around for days off. Good video man, and also good to see another fellow tech wearing stuff from troll clothing company as well.
You can tell how hard a Man works by looking at his boots, great Video thank you I’m looking at Wellington Boots now shopping and Ariat it is. Semper Fidelis
Please check where your boots are made before you buy.....because Semper Fi.
@@UncleDonDon there are so many made in the PRC now it’s Sad. I got the Ariat Wildhorse from eBay and there amazing made in Mexico. I found that all the Leather soles are USA and Mexico and the Rubber are China 99% of the time. I just can’t see me buying Cowboy Boots made in China lol I just can’t...
Just because you get dirty, doesn’t mean you’re a hard worker
I got the workhogs and i must plead for you to try them they are so soft like sandals man i swear
I must have got a bad pair of Ariats, mine are smoked after 4 and half months.. I’ll have to give them another try. Great video 👍🏻
You could probably get some sort of warranty if they only lasted 4 months. Worth emailing them and checking.
Union heavy diesel mechanic
After watching this video I decided to buy Ariat WorkHog XT Patriot H20 with carbon toe. Price was around 250$ I'll let you know how they hold up to the heavy use around diesel and gas, engine oil hydraulic and transmission fluid
Thanks for sharing
America 💯. Great review 👍
Credentials. Very important. I get to those same $250 a pair "credentials" any next 10 to 14 months or even half that time if I buy $140 (CAD) pair of work-boots. Your video is by far the review I saw in the past 2hrs. Thx.
Great video man - maybe you should go into sales - you def sold me on those puppies :-)
Dead on, on the redwings!
2 year review!!! :)
Just bought a pair of Ariat's Sierra Shock Shield H20 Steel Toe, so far comfortable.
5:41 Ariats
i currently wear redbacks and really like not having to tie laces but i have skinny ankles and constantly roll my ankle in them, so i need more ankle support, do these have good ankle support? and do your feet get hot in them working in the heat?
I’ve had Justin, twisted x, Dr.Martin, wolverine, Tony lama, Georgia boot, Red Wing, and other brands... my favorite are the Ariat Workhogs....also maintainance is very important
I was planning on getting some groundbreaker steel toe ariat boots. I wear size 12, but I was wondering if they’ll fit good or if they’ll be tight. What would you recommend?
My wolverines did the same shit ariats should be here in the mail Wednesday, got the 8” steel toe hermosa
If you treat those boots with a good oil/wax treatment when you get them new, they won't be so easily damaged by the dirt and grime. If you don't want to bother with cleaning your boots, you might try something made of roughout leather. It's much more resilient to lack of maintenance. You can even oil/wax the roughout and then they become indestructible.
Us KG's Boot guard to put on the toe of your boots. It paints on like a rhino liner, and I've never blown out the top of the toe since using it.
Well it been a year mine are the same way but I'm going to buy another pair great boot
Just got a pair for my son and I.
If they are good year welt you should be able to get those resoled. Once the front part of the sole wears out and starts eating away at the front upper leather, you might be able to get the boot resoled and ask for the front lip like you had it. It'll probably cheaper than getting a new boot and you won't have to break them in all over again.
I wish boots like that were in styles, id rock that for sure lol
Must depend where you live because everyone around here wears them lol
@@TheDieseldog Im in canada.. lol
Finally! A work boot review from someone who actually works for a living. Everybody else reviewing boots is obsessed with moc-toes and fashion. They might as well get some pink plastic boots with Hello Kitty on the toes.
Lol appreciate that 👍🏼
I am sick of my feet getting wet when at work (I work on boats, in boats, near water and I have been wearing huk rubber fishing half calf boots and they are ok but they don’t breathe and STINK so I been looking on UA-cam like I do for any info I need and FINALLY a guy that fucking works.
These pretty nailed dudes going on about how x toe shape isn’t “traditional” or how their pants look. I almost gave up and went back to flip flops and dealt with the fiberglass itch on my feet again because I’m no cowboy but my day is INSTANTLY IN SHAMBLES the minute my socks get wet. And, in FL I can’t stand wearing pants/jeans but I’m pulling the trigger on some Ariats so next I gotta figure out what jeans let my jewels breathe best. 36 years old and don’t know what denim vs cotton vs other materials are bc I have worn board shorts and fishing style shirts my whole life.
Love the flag. Good info on boots.
never wore a wellington boot but interested as i wear slip on boots like redback, do your feet get real hot in these during summer months? shop has no ac it can get toasty in side
Might have get myself a pair. I work in factory and all my work shoes have worn out within a year just from me standing around and all the oil that drips on them.
Great review. I will never buy Wolverine, Caterpillar, and Red Wings again. The bottoms wore out in 6 months. My favorite are the Ariat Workhog XT. But, my days of paying $300.00 for a pair of steel toe boots are over.
Thanks for the video man! i work in a veneer mill and i generally get a year out of boots until i got my ariat's i just hit 2 years ... i tried making a video last week but the audio sucked. lol.
I’m sold on the Ariats for sure. Thanks for watching!
@@TheDieseldog specific model?
Love Ariats
Lol I work in the oilfield and feel your pain, I chew through work boots like you. Haven't tried Ariat yet
I think most major boot manufacturers have cheapened out on materials/build quality and raised their prices. Red Wing used to be one of the go to brands, but now they don't even last all that long. The $30 tactical boots from Walmart seem to last just as long or longer than the name brand work boots you get from Boot Barn or somewhere similar
Look like great boots
Hicking boots from under armour are the best working boots for me so far.
I bought ariats my first pair for 38 dollars from tractor supply cause they was discontinued 2 or 3
Years ago im impressed .i bought them cause the redwings i was buying was 244 dollars
Check out Rocky...they make some great boots as well. Thanks for the review 👍
Ok time for a two year review
Do ariat work boots run true to size?
I tried an 11 EE, but idk if I go half a size more, i felt the 11 EE a little snug. I would like to know, be safe out there guys!
Just bought a pair of Justin work boots, super comfortable would recommend
I have a pair of Twisted X steel toed boots and they've about had it, the soles are starting to come off and they aren't waterproof anymore. I've been looking at Ariat boots because I've heard good things and I think I wanna give those a shot
As a railroad worker all I wore were redwings thorogoods and Carolinas but now unless you want to spend more then $300 they’re all made in China been looking for a pair that will last more than a year gonna try and find these and see how they do
Try the US made double H boots with the ICE soles. They're the best workboots
Ariat Sierra is the best in my opinion. 4 years before I blew the stitching out around the heel/upper
Got the anti fatigue timberland. The most comfortable boot ever had.
Anti-fatigue? That's the name?
Been wearing the same model redwing for 12 years but like you I'm not gonna pay 240 out the door. This video was fucking awesome! Thanks
Hey man what are those boot specific name I really wanna buy the,

“You sleep in those things” 🤣🤣🤣
Man you would love the Justin Drywall boots they lasted like 4-5 years
I’ve had wolverines cowboy boot for 3 years. Held up pretty good! Still wear them. 🤙
Hey diesaldog jusr wondering what jeans you are wearing mate?
Irish setter marshal boots were it’s at love new brown and black color too
Dang bro were do you work you beat the hell out of those boots you put them to work
I go hard in the paint
have you looked into Whites, or Nicks, Wesco Jobmaster type boots
Would you recommend getting the EE? I've never worn a wide boot but I see a lot of people saying Ariat run very narrow.
I have a narrow foot and they fit perfect. In my opinion, if you have a normal size foot you probably don’t need to go wide. But like anything, I’d recommend trying on a few pairs. I bought mine a bit snug and after about a week they were perfect.
Working on garbage trucks, all our boots get really dark and nasty looking after a little bit lol. Was surprised to see such brown boots.
Respect man, we work a garbage truck here and there. It can be rough lol.
How do ariat boot size ? Are they pretty true on sizing. I had a pair of 10ds which just had to much play in the instep. Just can’t decide if I want to down size by a half or full-size. Just annoying here in England shops don’t stock good boots
I sized down on these. Usually wear an 8.5 or 9 US. I believe I got these in an 8. Little snug at first but once they stretched a little they were perfect. Had good room in the toes. Hope this helps.
