I took the 5:45 a.m., 5-hour toy train ride from Kalka to Shimla! 🇮🇳

(Super) early on a November 2023 morning at the Kalka Haryana train station, I boarded one of the toy trains (specifically, the Shikavlik Deluxe Express, #52451) heading to the final destination of Shimla, a resort town in the lower Himalaya. The 5-hour ride was really fun and unique, and the antiquated train made me feel like I was transported back in time 50 or 75 years. The best 96 km journey I've made in a while.
