Touring Downtown Detroit During the Grand Prix
There's so much to see and do here! Even if the Grand Prix wasn't in town. From taking the (free!) public rail systems to visiting a 4-story bookstore to eating a coney dog to marveling at the architecture to enjoying a good drink to seeing a Lions/Tigers/Red Wings/Pistons game, Detroit has lots to do.
And don't forget to stop off at the Heidelberg Project.

Feelings of Nostalgia at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House
Переглядів 103Місяць тому
Waaay back in the 1990s, my parents or friends' parents would take me to the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House, a public entity that holds concerts, tours of the main residence, and other stuff. I don't recall too much but one thing I did remember was the "dollhouse" as I called it, a small playhouse Edsel Ford had built for his daughter. I saw that during my visit, among other things. It was a fun ...
Detroit. Memorial Day 2024. Grand Prix preparations.
Переглядів 138Місяць тому
I returned back to my home state of Michigan to visit family over the Memorial Day weekend. My "uncle" Kurt, always a great tour guide and host, drove me to Detroit so we could play tourist. The annual Grand Prix was being set up. We took a ride on the elevated, automatic train, called the People Mover. We also looked inside some nice hotels, ate yummy Indian food, and drove around, avoiding th...
Balboa Park's Japanese Friendship Garden (and a bit more) - San Diego
Переглядів 252 місяці тому
San Diego's Balboa Park has a ton of attractions, such as the famous San Diego Zoo. I only had a few hours until my flight, so I decided to skip the zoo and go to a few other places, such as their Japanese tea garden. After that, I wandered around, finally ending up at the Spanish Village Art Center. Balboa Park offers a lot. I'll have to dedicate more time to it the next time I visit San Diego
Overcast San Diego (La Jolla Cove and Black's Beach)
Переглядів 582 місяці тому
I spent ~48 hours in and overcast (but warm[er than the Bay Area]) San Diego. In that short amount of time, I visited Black's Beach as well as the La Jolla Cove. I only took a few short videos but still wanted to share them. Enjoy!
Following in Anthony Bourdain's Footsteps in San Francisco (sort of)
Переглядів 1542 місяці тому
After messing around in San Francisco's Presidio I met up with my friend Mark. We ate lunch at Sam's Pizza and Hamburgers and had drinks at the Li-Po Cocktail Lounge, both places that Anthony Bourdain visited and talked up. Super delicious.
Some Light Breaking and Entering in Marin
Переглядів 95 місяців тому
Another Marin County day journey. This time I hit up the Point Bonita Lighthouse, Battery Mendell, the Marine Mammal Center, and finally Fort Cronkhite and Rodeo Beach. The battery was completely abandoned and falling apart; most of it was barred and barricaded but one window was open so in I went. A little bit of breaking and entering but I don't think they'll put a warrant out for me.
Extra: My India and Nepal (and Turkey) Hotel Rooms
Переглядів 1595 місяців тому
Originally a private video, this is a compilation of all the hotel rooms I stayed at while I traveled in India and Nepal (and Turkey) during my November 2023 Asia vacation. I made this mostly for myself but maybe others will find it entertaining.
Indian Leftovers (all the fun extra footage) 🇮🇳
Переглядів 1015 місяців тому
After spending weeks in India filming my travels, I ended up with a lot of extra footage that I couldn't fit into the narrative of my other videos. I thought the footage was interesting nonetheless and wanted it to see the light of day. So here we are! Enjoy random bits of India I shot throughout my time there.
21 Hour Layover in Istanbul 🇹🇷
Переглядів 4926 місяців тому
As luck would have it, I had a long layover in Istanbul on my way back to the US from India. Of course, I had to take advantage so I dropped my bag at my airport hotel and took a taxi into downtown Istanbul. Despite the ever present threat, the rain held off and I was able to enjoy my afternoon in the ancient city that straddles Europe and Asia.
Behind the Scenes of Old Delhi 🇮🇳
Переглядів 3876 місяців тому
Possibly the best part of my trip to India was getting this 90 minute behind the scenes tour of Old Delhi from a rickshaw ("Indian helicopter") driver. He told me about all the different markets (for spices, bread, clothing, etc.) and then took me through the spice market and onto a rooftop for an amazing view of the surrounding area, including the Red Fort in the background.

Cool vlog man
@@TravellerGarry thanks!
OLD WAYNE COUNTY BUILDING!! That's where the daycare I worked at was! I can tell you way too much about that place, if I can get you to sit still. Not gonna lie, I watch most Detroit things hoping to catch a glimpse of it. 28 seconds in and you did not disappoint.
Glad you liked it! More upcoming!
The view of the ocean or the bay is definitely impressive. The coastline is hauntingly panoramic, like in an old painting.
very cool! I like this type of filming.
I have been in this neighborhood for my whole entire life
Good work brother I'm visiting Nagarkot in March
These r 1000% better room than what you get in any ÷EU countries or USA
I really appreciate you doing this video. I'm visiting next week and the whole week it will rain, and my plans were to go the places you did. I was wary of being able to do it in the rain but thanks to you showing me, I know it is possible and can be fun too.
Welcome to Türkiye 🎉
To cross those sides u have underground bazar there which u can go
Istanbul is a very crowded city
Great 👍 video man.
❤❤❤ welcome to Nepal
Are you still in India?
No I’m back in the United States.
@@ohivegotgreeneyes I fly to Delhi tomorrow! 😊
@@blainegammon5977 enjoy! I had a great time while I was there.
@@ohivegotgreeneyes glad you enjoyed it! Any advice? 😆
Most prices are negotiable? People are friendly and want to practice their English so they’ll come up to you and want to know where you’re from. Some want to steer you to stores to buy stuff; if it was something I was interested in I went, if not I said no.
Keep it up bro, your video are good, just try to make video like story, now it's looks row video
Deliberately visiting such chaotic places and choosing close street instead of wide roads and show india in bad way
😂😂propaganda of portraying this image of India 😂😂😂on full swing... Good good .... Now it will not work
Yup lonely lane 😢
I seriously don't understand why foreigners don't travel to tourist places. Delhi has Akshardham, Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Aerocity, Asola Wildlife Century, Lotus Temple, Cyber City Gurugram, Noida etc. You can visit these places.
I hope you enjoyed your visit to our country!
Did you stay in paharganj over night?
No, I stayed at Connaught Place, about a 20 minute walk south of Paharganj. I bounced back and forth from India to Nepal so I stayed at a couple hotels there.
@@ohivegotgreeneyes I was going to ask what your opinion on paharganj is as I’m travelling to India on 20th of this month
I liked it and it’s definitely worth visiting. It’s loud and chaotic but perfectly safe. I had multiple people come up to me and offer services (clean my shoes, drive me around) but that’s about it. I recommend checking it out.
@@ohivegotgreeneyes thanks for info. been reading mixed reviews of place. My hotel is in paharganj
It may be loud there but it’s not at all dangerous. You’ll be glad you went.
More of the Paharganj please
if you do not have a microphone, get one... it will make use able to hear you way more clearer and louder.
keep it up man
What's up with that is that the government charges foreign tourists a fee to visit the historic site during peak hours to maintain & preserve the buildings. Like paying a museum entrance fee or bridge toll.
Yeah, kind of like a museum entrance fee. But it’s hard to tell cause it’s really not gated off, just a low horizontal metal bar 1 foot off the ground you can easily step over. Plus, a few days before I walked in with no issues. Then came back a day later and was stopped by security. Kind of randomly enforced.
❤❤❤
How camera you use ?
Sony FDRX3000. You can get it used on Amazon for about $475 US dollars. It’s a small, easy to use camera. I highly recommend it.
I hope the guy actually shipped the painting you bought from him. Felt a little shady - he didn't want to be on camera.
He did! It was waiting for me when I got home and now hangs in my living room.
Solo travel where is others
visit chail , kufri, manali, old manali, kasol, chalal , malana village , rasol, pulga, vaichin valley , manikaran sahib , kasauli. these places are all different and nearby you. you'll have amazing experience

Did the military students make you smoke a cigarette for a "No Smoking" awareness campaign? I didnt get the purpose at all TBH.
It was part of a scavenger hunt they were doing. They approached me and asked if I could help them out. I quickly filmed their checklist while talking to them
@@ohivegotgreeneyesyou could have said no, smoking is bad for health!
As an Indian, its just shameful to see the trash we Indians pile up on the ground.
Come to leh
Don't be so serious bro😊
Cant imagine in 21st century people live like that.. such a dirty, ugly and un organized culture .. even African countries are better than India
Thank you for sharing I was looking for a place to hike
I grew up around Pgh and a few years back I visited and used the book 'The Steps of Pittsburgh' as a way to explore Pgh history/neighborhoods. It was great and I recognized the stairs you started on. It is a fascinating and unique part of Pgh. I think a city wide neighborhood project to improve and provide a history understanding and value of the Steps of Pgh would be a great way to get people out and have more pride in one's hood.
Great video- Try to get there on my next trip to LA. Bodie CA, State Park pretty good.
Cool! I always wanted to see a Ghost Town.
is ur handle a reference to the song temptation
It is! It’s one of my favorite songs.
The pool table that Morgan was shot at is in that museum. You walked by it, it has all kinds of stuff on it. For some reason they don’t advertise it.
Really? Strange they don’t advertise it. You’d think it would draw bigger crowds.
I lived in Tombstone years ago, a local told me about the pool table. My next visit to the museum I mentioned it to an employee. He wasn’t happy that I knew about it and I said advertise it you’ll get lots of visitors. He thought people may chip away at it. I said PUT IT BEHIND GLASS like the hearse.
I would like to know if all that stuff was there during all the years it was neglected?
Good question. I think the theater was used for something else in the early 1900s. Maybe all the stuff was in storage somewhere during that time.
Fantastic presentation my friend, this place is amazing and it’s not crowded at all! Love it🥾🥾
