I've had a Citizen eco drive diver since 1997, still runs like a top! Will definitely keep looking at my Sams and Costco for these deals, thanks for the video.
A lonely voice from UK? Just got one of these for £120 ($155?) at Argos, less than used ones go for on ebay. Excellent quality, excellent value. The steel bracelet alone must be worth $50! I have about 30 watches, including wind-ups, automatics, kinetics and solars. Of the latter type: Citizen, Seiko / Pulsar an Casio. Great fan of solars and of Citizen's Eco Drive in particular. Good quality, a big variety of designs (e.g. Divers and Stiletto), very accurate and always ready to be worn with the correct time! I rate Citizen EcoDrive as highly as Seiko Solar and think they are better value. As far as I am concerned, they can remain unappreciated and undervalued for ever!
Would you say that Citizen is becoming what Seiko isn't anymore, a good bang for the buck watch brand? Or is it us that we simply overlooked Citizen and they were always a very good option.
@@gjuttla704 Orient is also going up in price lately. It's not yet on the same level with Seiko, but they are slowly going that direction. Citizen on the other hand, still has some really good divers (especially in the Ecodrive line-up). I don't care anymore if it's automatic or quartz, if the movement inside is well made, that's all that matters to me.
@@davenolan5709 of course, by the time your done spending money on upgrading your skx, for that much money you could've bought a Swiss automatic dive watch. Like Tissot seastar, or certina. Why spend so much money on upgrading an skx when you can just buy certina Swiss automatic dive watch for same price?
I saw the Excalibur at my local Sam's a couple days ago. Seriously thought about getting one, but don't really have the $125 to spare right now. Thanks for the review.
I’ve had the regular black bezel one for many years. It’s still running strong. The ratchet clasp is fantastic. Every dive watch on a bracelet should have a ratchet clasp, imo.
You got a great deal on that watch! Thanks for showing this watch. That’s a lot of watch for what you paid for it. I bet that watch lasts years without any issues.
For good value for money watches Citizen Eco Drive watches meet those requirements. I own several of them from the radio control chronograph ones to a simple military style watch and ones for formal occasions. I don't have any of their dive watches yet but really like this watch as it would probably be ok for someone with a smaller wrist like me. Thanks for posting.
I picked up an Excalibur same as this(bezel is all black)last year here in Scotland for£129.Lovely watch with superb quality bracelet but never pay full money as you can always get a discount if you look around.
Citizen eco drives fantastic watches, find one you like they last 20ys or more. No battery replacement just make sure they get light !! I use to buy and sell watches I’ve had them ALL, you can buy a bunch of these for the price of a service on a Rolex. I have a Citizen military on a nato, tough and perfect.
My wife has the 33mm ladies version of the Excalibur, one in stainless (EP6040) and another in gold (EP6044). The 44 has a black rubber strap with curved ends that match the case. The 40 came with a nice bracelet - no diver extension though. These are excellent watches and incredible values. BTW, Amazon was selling the BN0151-09L on Prime Day for $90.99.
My Citizen Promaster EcoDrive BN0150-28E in Black ----is almost to the second as accurate as my in-Sync atomic watches. I love my citizen watches --no fuss, no batteries, no winding,...NOTHING...they just run. I bought an orient diver which I like a lot too, which initially was crazy accurate but now after settling and breaking in ---gains about 5 seconds a day.
Very good review . It's worth bearing in mind it's a good quality bracelet but if it needs links removed be careful not to lose the tiny grip collers inserted in the pin holes which easily fall out and only becomes noticeable when the pins don't regrip when refitting.
I bought a BN 4021-02e a couple years ago for around 300-400 selling for 780 on Amazon today.. out of my small collection of watches like ocean crawler, zodiac so on this citizen is still my favorite
randomly I looked this watch up 3 days ago. I remember when looking for my first dive watch this was up on the top of the list. I went for a micro automatic diver instead. I'm very happy with it, but i remember the ratcheting extension on the excalibur was a big plus. I don't think this watch gets the attention it deserves
lol @ the "gshock guy" being crushed by the citizen's case (on the left). Was that intentional? Those BN0150s/151s wear great on a 20mm Borealis "ISO Styled" strap.
I really like my Citizens. Dependable and look good. I found a guy in Alberta Canada on Ebay that has bracelets for the BN0151-09L. I just wish they would not keep going larger. Some of the new models look interesting, but just too big for my taste.
I have one and its great except the second hands don't fully line up. It is weird because the 35-55 line up but the rest is sporadic when it comes to alignment. Watch would be perfect if the second hand lined up. Does this one particular second hands line up all the way around?
I don't really do quartz, but I do like the eco drives and the casio g shocks and the bulova precisionists and the Seiko and casio quartz movements that tick at four ticks a second. Other than that I don't do quartz.I know that's a lot of exceptions but nowadays there's a lot of good quartz movements.
@@davenolan5709 I believe Invicta has two or three models that I like, the pro diver, Grand diver, and the akula prestige automatic. And then they have their Swiss made automatic reserve line with selita sw-200. But other than that it's just not my cup of tea. Guys can someone help to tell me. What is the most accurate that loses the least time Seiko movement that is not from the Grand Seiko or Credor lineup?
check 8F32 or its variants. They are predecessor of 9F series which are featured on latest high end models. 8F are lot cheaper and rated at +-20 secs/ year. They also have perpetual calendar by default.
Citizen does two things that frustrate me to the point that I just can't buy some of their watches. First, they have no (or not enough) micro-adjustments and they just don't fit. Second, they often have weird lug widths (e.g., 19, 21 and 23 mm). This is obviously on purpose, because they are doing it. But I just can't understand why.
I am gonna say it... Citizen Eco Drive > Seiko Quartz ! They have models for $300 with sapphire; solid end links; blue lume. You can’t get that in Seiko at that price point. I heard the miyota 9 series is better than Seiko 7r series autos
Thats a Citizen ProMaster ? For 124.00 ? Oh man...i keep kicking myself on the butt for not getting a Sams membership tss...for 124.00 its way beyond a steal...im gonna get me a membership..
