There's no competition if you are at the top and no one can surpass you!! That's why it's lonely cause there's no motivation to push yourself if your are the best already

I know , I'm an ex international speed skater , held national records , skated world championships and qualified for the winter Olympic games ..lonely ? lol ..no way but I was a loner with a goal and some support from directions unexpected ..Again , it's just a state of mind you have to deal with .No offence .. but that's how it is .
He meant that standing at the top you're on your own up there - nobody else can share the same joy, fear or going through the same struggle to get up there and trying to stay up there is harder ...
