    You have very educational, detailed videos about dogs everyone can watch and learn dog language. I’m just a volunteer, but you show, then you explain what dogs are saying. Many things I know, I’m open for new information. Thanks for sharing.🙂

    It's kinda crazy that a submissive dog can actually take their behaviors so far that it makes the both the well trained dominant and submissive dogs angry.

    • @crossanddream2
      @crossanddream2 2 місяці тому +5

      It's not that crazy given how pushy they can be with trying to force the other dog to know there submissive, such as with the dog licking Ronin mouth even after he moved away multiple times. And it can get overwhelming should the dog continually do it as well

    • @Speurneuscosmo
      @Speurneuscosmo 2 місяці тому

      My dog can be pushy to and when a submissive dog don’t use their language to let my dog know he is not interested or my dog crosses his boundries, my dog will be more pushy. At that point I recall him, because I don’t want my dog to exited. My dog listen very well to other dogs. But must get the boundries. A submissive dog will learn to be sure about themselves. That’s why it is so importent not always protect your submissive dog, because submissive dogs must also learn they give boundries. Or else you get a nervous and anxious dog who is afraid to show himself.

    I think this is one video where I don't agree with your technique and I'd like some input if, in hindsight, you would've changed your reaction or have done the same thing. I would like input because your videos have made my dog training 180 for the better.
    At 2:27 you get up after calling Ronin multiple times, which I appreciate. I think it is the right move because he chose to ignore you before that.
    But as you approach him you get quieter, and it is true that the puppies are helping you do your job haha by distracting him and calming him down. But after he shakes he keeps his eyes completely honed in and focused on the dog he was just told to quit harrassing. That's when I would've tried to step in and be a lot more active in stopping him, rather than more lax. Because now he has ignored multiple times, I would correct him for that.
    And at 2:44 , correct me if I'm wrong, it seems you and the other owner are trailing them to try and get Ronin to quit it out.
    2:51 is a very important moment for me, as I feel it would've been correct to step into Ronin's way because it seems he was slowing down. But because no intervention was taken, he suddenly speeds up and body slams the other dog.
    I'd like to finish this with saying I'm not at all crap talking you, but I am putting my input/criticism and I'd like to know what you think in response if you take time out of your day to reply. Thank you for understanding.

      I love the behavior, communication, and talking points afterwards too! For some reason it's always most difficult to inform others (like family or friends) to be calm when interacting with the dog directly because showing them extreme excitement can worsen behavior!

    "Given their high intensity" lol Malinois' are the super soldiers of the canine world. If a full grown Malinois came after my full grown Corso in an aggressive manner, I would have to do something drastic as quick as I could. That's like 1 of 3 breeds I'm concerned about hurting my Corso when he gets of age. If a Malinois wants blood, that's whats gonna happen. Doesn't really matter too much what's in the way, unless it's a human with some kind of weapon.

    • @jfkst1
      @jfkst1 Місяць тому +1

      Correct. Hence why dogs like Corsos and Malinois are very unlikely to be good in dog parks.

    Great Pyranees puppy recognized that Ronin is far too large and strong to be as wild and pushy as he is - and decided he needed some guardian herding on him. This Pyr is probably incredible on a farm. Hopefully that’s where he lives.
    The Mal’s owner is a little more aware of his dog’s bad manners than I have seen in previous videos, but still making excuses for it. That Pyr is almost definitely going to submit Ronin at some point - and because Ronin has never given in to anything (not even his owner as we see from the constant, weak commands of “no more” that Ronin fully ignores), the push into submission is going to cause some sparks to fly. I’m sure everything will be fine tho, and all dogs will be happier after it happens. Any of the guardian breeds typically make better Alphas than a herding breed. They’re more chill and don’t push and invade space, and usually work to keep the peace and only submit when someone is out of line. Where herding dogs are more likely to run, nip, tackle and bully because it’s fun to them, no matter where in the pack order they are.

    I personally would love to take my Malinois to a dog park, but I’ve heard that they can get sick from other dogs + they become reactive to dogs. Do you give your dogs anything to prevent getting sick from other dogs or what can I do to keep my dogs healthy and prevent them from becoming reactive?
    Note to mention if it helps, I have a female Malinois (3 years old) and a male Malinois (almost 2 years old). Both are intact and never interacted with other dogs up close before.

    dont agree with jumping over fences in dog parks since that can set off a lot of dogs and cause fights. id recommend doing this in a more appropriate area like your own yard or private training area or doing this in a park with no dogs.

    The people that comment on your videos are actually crazy..they are always like "ronin is always so agressive and always trying to be dominant" or "you shouldn't take your dogs to the dog park because they are agressive" or "you should correct your dog for his behavior "...what these ppl dont get is some of these videos are when ronin was younger and still being trained. Ronin is a good dog and he needs to be corrected some times but he learns from it.. and sometimes people are like "this guy talks about his dog keeping his balls like that makes him better than the neutered dogs".. i dont get it Ronin and canela are great dogs.

    If you know your dog has the potential for aggressive behavior, then it is irresponsible to take them to a dog park. Frankly, dog parks as a whole are likely irresponsible. I don't take my Dutch and Bandog to a dog park because while they are well behaved, they are dominant and will engage in fights.

      they are guard dogs bred to protect he is trying to shoo those other dogs away from you. he may not be a dog park dog or may not be a dogs dog and thats fine. herding breeds typically dont do well in groups with other dogs because they were bred to get the flock to safety by herding. your dog wants to make the other dogs move as in away from you since this is also a breed bred for protection.

      Yeah, sounds like hormones are raging. I would say he's starting to be way more confident in asserting himself. Are the humans reaching out to pet him, or is he just coming up out of nowhere and jumping on em? Is it aggressive lunging, or friendly play invites?

    You guys telling him to "roughen up" and correct his dog properly or whatever shit need to understand that he is surrounded by other dogs. If you correct in a more exalted way your dog by yelling, grabbing or any of those negative corrections, you are risking breaking a fight and your dog as the center of it. As he said, dogs are sensitive to human emotions, and they read those and reach their own conclusions. If you grab your dog negatively in a situation like this, let me tell you, other dogs will join in and try to "help you grab him and calm him down".
    That's why you take a dog to a dog park when they are properly socialised, cause while surrounded by dogs, fight can happen if a human acts up with their dog.

    Dog parks are the worst! That’s what people should take away from these videos. They are a great lesson in why a dog park just brings out the worst behavior in dogs that otherwise wouldn’t act that way 🤔
    There’s always some fighting going on. It’s like the exercise yard in prison. Too much tension.
