- New sweeping immigration legislation, signed into law by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in May of 2022, prohibits anyone from transporting illegal immigrants into the state. It's one of the many restrictions under the new law which some critics say has hampered the state's economy. Manuel Bojorquez has details.

I'm a U.S. citizen but I have Autism.
Nobody wants to give me a job do to my disability. BUT I want to work.... if small businesses in the United States actually cared about the people living in their own country they would actually give out jobs to people like myself that want to work. Other than giving out jobs to people not from the United States in the border that they're crying about.
There are more than willing to work with people not from the United States. But not a person like myself with disability. I personally think that you should be more stricter on small businesses hiring them. Maybe then things will change

If they can find someone willing to do it for half the pay and to work off the books which saves the employer the trouble of making their half of the payroll tax, why not, as far as they're concerned. There is a law that requires businesses to hire qualified Americans before employing an H1B visa holder (skilled-think tech-trade), but it's violated all the time and the feds always look the other way. Americans have been soldout, both the lower class and the upper-middle class and the middle-class got soldout decades ago when they shipped all the manufacturing jobs to China, thanks to Clinton letting China in the WTO.

I don’t understand why they just don’t get them out of Florida? 14th Amendment does not protect illegal immigration and does not provide birthright citizenship to them or any kind of privileges. We’ve been lied to and citizenship has been given out illegally. We need to start reading case laws regarding these topics instead of listening to these politicians, left or right. Let’s also take home owners and small business owners who are on a tight budget. Latino workers are swift and charge fairly. Almost every contractor I hired that was not Latino had to keep coming out to fix mistakes and charged double.
You know why? Because contractors don’t actually do the work. They’re the middle man with a large overhead.

If the contractor or developer gets their licenses revoked and their ability to do business taken away they won’t be so quick to hire undocumented workers.
