I just got a baby California king a few weeks ago. I named him Beetlejuice. He's finally getting comfortable in his enclosure and this morning keeps popping his head out of one of his hides like a tiny periscope. It's adorable. I've been handling him almost every day and he is getting more comfortable. I love him so nuch 😭❤️
Love these videos! If you're newest babies don't readily take frozen, thawed pinkies within a week or two after their first shed, what do you try next? Would love any tips you have on getting baby kingsnakes to feed! Keep up the great herp work!

Congratulations!! I use the same containers and set up for my hatchlings. So easy to open without startling the snakes inside. You guys are going to have a huge season!
Thanks Mike. I've been liking them so far. I'll still be using take out containers for the corns just because of cost but I really like these.
It's scary. So many babies 😂
I second that they are escape artists. I've had mine about 2 weeks and he escaped from the pet store box in my car and was gone for about 4 days before he found me after landing on my leg mid-drive. Then he got away again a couple days later from his tub. Finally found him again yesterday. Suitcase is currently on top of the tub

I like paper towel rolls a lot better, because they are thicker paperboard. Though I have an anery tessera baby corn right now who no matter what would take his roll and deposit it in his water dish. Every night. I come out in the morning, roll in the water. I have no idea how he is moving it entirely across his bin, I have tried and tried to catch him doing it - I even asked my 7yo if she was punking me.
Haha they are stronger and sneakier than we realize!
Really helpful video for a first time breeder! Thank you! I did have a question, is it imperative to have them in racks with heat, I didn't see you had heat, but you didn't show that, so do you use heating with your hatchlings?

Do you put the tubs on heat tape or mates ?? Or at room temperature
We run 80-82 degree ambient temp in our room
