Why fascists in Poland destroy Red Army memorials in honour of our brave Kazakh liberators? My grand-grandpa from Kazakhstan died for liberation of Katowice, and now Polish state demolishes Red Army memorials like there were only Russians who served in Red Army. I was told by other leftist Polish that current Poland is fascist state because it has banned Communist Party any other Communist ideologies. And now i see myself that Poland is fighting against anti-fascist memorials, which makes sense if Poland really was a fascist regime.
For most Poles the Red Army is considered as Russian occupation force which enforced communists rule in Poland. We have a lot of bad blood with Russia. However, we're gratefull for your grand-grandpa sacrifice as we believe he didnt want to take our freedom to choose our own government as Russians did.
@@mateuszkonopka710 *Russian occupation force which enforced communists rule in Poland* - You mean like Polish occupation of Iraq? I don't see any "Russian occupation" in People's Poland. They even gave Polish occupied Vilnius back to Lithuania, gained back lands of Western Ukraine and Western Belarus, they gave to Poland former German lands of Eastern Prussia and Silezia. Nobody did so much good for Poland as Soviets have. *he didnt want to take our freedom to choose our own government as Russians did* - Do you really think that fascist regime of dictator Pilsudsky represented the majority of the capitalist Poland in 1920-30's?
I do not know better example of how wrong you are than Katyń Massacre, we were not standing together with Soviet Union, we were forced into submission. So were the Czechs and Hungarians, Romanians, Latvians and Lithuanians. There can be no argument here since the Soviets had to pacify with force the independence and democratic movements there (Prague Spring, Hungarian Revolution of 1956, Polish protests 56', 80' , 88', The Romanian Revolution of 1989). The eastern europe was in fact under occupation for almost 40 years. The territorial exchange after WW2 has very little impact here although i agree with you that Poland did not lose much and that Vilnus should have been returned to Lithuanians ( Who were in fact annexed by then and de facto under direct Soviet control). I agree that Piłsudski was a nationalist, yet, i disagree with your statement about him being a facist. You may be right that he did not represented the majority of Poles, however, then he resigned and allowed (semi)democratic civilian authorities take his place. I live here for more than 24 years now, i dont know a single Pole that thinks Soviets "did so much good", they did some, but they bring much more evil. Take care :)
