@@learnjcbskidsterchickensga7594 Same here, I'm not a fan of bucket traps filled with water. Rats and mice are mammals just like us, and have similar nervous systems. If you've ever accidentally breathed in water while drinking at a fountain or while taking a shower, you'll know that inhaling even a little bit of water is very painful. That's why quick kill traps are the best, such as snap traps, or an electrical trap like this one.
I have had this one for a couple years. It is a good one, but expensive and you have to check it often since we only ever had it hold two large mice at once
For as many mice as you have you might want to cut the bottom out of it and affix it to the lid of a five gallon bucket and snap the lid on the bucket.
As long as I have a bucket, I'd fill the bottom with water, drive a straightened coat-hanger through the lid and bottom of a plastic bottle, lube the holes, and make a roller-trap at the top. Easy-peasy and zero money spent.
Apart from homemade mousetraps (like a rolling log bucket trap), what's the best bargain mouse trap? The old wood and copper Victor M156 Metal Pedal Mouse Trap sells four for a few bucks. I bought a 4-pack of Victor mouse traps at the grocery store, baited them with peanut butter, set them around in my garage (where I had been having recent trouble with mice getting in the trunks of cars & nibbling paper), and in a few weeks a bunch of mice were killed in the traps and I no longer have mouse problems. Great result for a few dollars!
I love that. Especially the fast dump and return. Friggin awesome. I gotta get a couple of these - I live in an old house with a fieldstone foundation. I'm constantly having to keep bait stations and traps in my basement to keep the mouse population under control.
The hawk was the highlight of that video. He shows up as if he's waiting to be seated, then eats his fill and stand around waiting to see if some desert is coming. raptors are so cool.
Have two of these. Works great indoors. But useless if it gets below zero celsius. Then the batteries wont be able to keep it running, even new alkaline batteries wont work. But indoors above freezing is great.
I would customize it. Remove tray. Cover side, make large hole in the bottom below the dump chamber. And then mount to a bucket with a lid. Have a great day

No. Society is psychotic for making trapping such a fringe topic. Not so long ago if you didnt hunt you didnt survive.
