I know of people laying 1800 a day, it is absolutely nuts and it is also only on large projects. Very few windows and doors, long straight walls. Shopping malls and shit. But yes somewhere between 500- 800 a day.
I've been a mason over 45 years and have been to the brick laying competitions where the best and fastest compete. 100 brick in the wall in 6 minutes, 360 seconds is IMPOSSIBLE. If you had 1 guy spreading and another laying you still couldn't get it in. It's BULLSHIT and any mason knows that. Hell,I can barely get 250 brick in the wall in that amount of time!!
Wouldn't let him lay a brick on my property. These sites now days are a shambles and are regularly signed off with numerous problems. Walls out of plumb etc
Nothing wrong with lay'em fast as long as they are layed right that's what it's about looks good nice uniformed the mortar is spreaded consistently Them boy's look like they are doing their shit 100 brick in 6min watch an learn boys lol I like that
You shouldn't use a level for any stretch of brickwork longer than the level itself. if you're ever 1/2 a mm out every time then it will accumulate. This is why they are using profiles and lines, the same way bricklaying has been done for centuries.
So I'm curious how much time was spent getting their bricks nice and close, their mortar mixed and close. I guarantee they didn't mix mortar, stage bricks then lay 100 bricks in 6 minutes. They were able to be efficient because of how their work site was set up, and there is no reference to how long that took. Oh, and just because it's fast work doesn't mean that its quality work
