    Hey mate, cheers for the video plenty of good ideas & info. Any idea where you got that fold out cup holder? I like the Harpax jigheads, have to be the best I've come across.

    • @Micksgonefishing
      @Micksgonefishing  Місяць тому +1

      It’s the original one from Telwater that came with the boat! And yeah Harpax are the bomb!!

    Love your run down of your rig. Just moved back here after 25yrs. I have a 4.1m Ally craft and a 5.75m cruise craft. Only thing missing is some good marks, and hints as to where I can start looking 50~60km offshore?

    • @Micksgonefishing
      @Micksgonefishing  Місяць тому

      I rarely fish marks these days, get your sounder setup so it reads at speed and drive over contour lines on your chart to find new spots every trip. All the good marks are loaded with sharks these days 😅

    Ive had my similar size tinny for a similar amount of time. I bought new but I could easily spend $10-20k to make it better. Electronics, trailer upgrades, rod holders and storage, the list goes on.

    Sweet tin.
    Ive got an old 14ft trimcraft im trying to modify.just need the missus to let me pull the trigger on a mig.doubt the rivets will hold up.your well area at the transom gave me a gd idea.
    I can get stuff fabbed like gunnels and floor braces as middle seat doesnt want to have any more butts on it, just need a welder.
    Cmon wifey let me out to play😅😅😅😅

    Just wondering about those scope mate is worth saving for.. hope you had a sneaky fish there too mate one of my favourite creek to fish and the little reefs are not bad either out the front

    • @Micksgonefishing
      @Micksgonefishing  Місяць тому +1

      It’s worth the money, but it doesn’t make fish jump in the boat, it’s another skill that needs to be mastered before it’ll improve your fishing…

  • @lifeofryleyfishing
    @lifeofryleyfishing Місяць тому +1

    The man!
    Love the set up, just to clarify.. youd rather not have a welded side mount console to have your sounder on, UHF flush mounted into etc?

    • @Micksgonefishing
      @Micksgonefishing  Місяць тому

      Nah ya lose space with any console and I can maneuver the boat better in tight places as tiller steer…

    • @lifeofryleyfishing
      @lifeofryleyfishing Місяць тому

      No I completely agree, I’ve decided tiller but more of a sounder box rather then a side console if that makes sense?

    Great vid mick. Super thought out. Love it. Quick question. You said you were in the surf industry on the goldy. So I’m guessing you are a surfer also. Living up north now do you surf much at all still ? Or has fishing just replaced surfing for you? I ask because I’ve grown up surfing on the Gold Coast and since I started fishing 5 ish years ago I barely think about surfing at all. Never thought I would stop surfing when I was growing up but now all I think about and do is fish. Funny how it works hey. Jacks have left me shaking harder than any barrel I’ve ever had hahahah 🤙🤙🔥🔥

    • @Micksgonefishing
      @Micksgonefishing  Місяць тому

      Still get out surfing when there’s swell, usually cyclone season but fishing has all but replaced my surfing addiction… I used to fish a lot when I was surfing also though..

    MICK. Does the min Kota cable deteriorate over a couple of years? As the motor guide only has lasted three years. ?

    • @Micksgonefishing

      @@geoffstein3896 yeah man it’s a good thing! I used to do a lot offshore in it when I got it, but I do have a second bigger boat for dedicated offshore stuff.

      @Micksgonefishing thanks for that mate. I have a glass boat that needs some work so was looking at one of these to fill the void while I work on the other boat, but I do like offshore fishing so if I could do a bit on the good days that would be great
