I have an Indian play list where I have built up a wonderful collection of rich hymns.
So much better than what we sing today.

As a kid in India, we sang all these hymns in church. Three decades later, I know most of these hymns by heart. Its imprinted in your heart and mind. These hymns bring back lovely memories.

I am 70 and I learned these hymns by heart as a little girl. My mother would cover a few words in the hymn book with her finger to encourage me to remember the words. I surprise myself at times when suddenly a long forgotten one comes to mind and the words are there.

86 years old this year 2022, it is too imprinted in my heart ❤️ and mind and it is indeed very relaxing and

It's remarkable to me how these Christians in India sing this song more beautifully, sincere, and genuine than any choir I've heard from America or Europe. How is that possible? I think it's because the song is connected to their heart and they sing it as before God. It's way more meaningful to them than just a performance.

The hymn is also among the favourite of the Father of the Nation ( Mahatma Gandhi ) . You will glad to know it's played at the Beating Retreat each year ( Jan 29th ) by the 3 Service Band as it was Mahatma Gandhi' s favourite.

I really like the upbeat tempo which keeps it from sounding only like a funeral hymn. The smiles also help make it a hymn of hope not sadness. The harmonies are so good.

What may be interest to you and all is that this was among a favourite hymn of Mahatma Gandhi ( Father of the Nation) and it used to be played by the 3 Services Band at the besting Retreat until 2021.

Albert Temple - Thanks for the feedbak. About 14 years ago when the Lord led us to do the ageless hymns this is one focus that we had to do is the way it was sung origianlly with least compromise ( specially in the 250 voice Mass Choir ) yet present it so that the youngsters and future generation will enjoy . The credit goes to each hymn Choir Directors who carry with them atleast 30-40 years of choir direction . Mainly each album ( about 12-14 hymns in each ) are done with prayerful preparation and planning with many months of practice . So glad that it is reaching out and blessing millions across the globe at such a time as this. Watch the Channel for other hymns ( virtual singing ) in 2020 as a prayer for the Nation by the Mass Choir and groups . Also the playlist " Sing for India" when we did 2 hymns in 24 Indian languages from across the Nation
