Something that appears to be so common sense, is yet something that all of us should know now. Physical activity and movement is not only essential for our health and well-being, but also crucial for us to carry on everyday, mundane activities in flow with ease.
Very informative. I love the idea of using stress and past experiences to learn and move forward . I never looked at stress in a positive way, like looking at it like it a challenge response. Something that can lead to personal growth. I think the body-mind connection is something that is so interesting, that needs to be explored more.
Appreciative joy... wow, that's pretty fascinating to hear. In Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, there is mention of 'cultivation of opposite virtues' as a 'way to remove disturbances' of the mind. CHAP 1&2, Sutra 33). So, one of the ways of increasing the appreciative muscle, is to become aware of when the negative (e.g., envy, jealousy) emotion appears (for example, when we hear about someone's success)...and in the moment choosing to express (even to yourself) an opposite emotion (e.g., how awesome it is that this person has achieved x ). Even when i consider myself fully immersed in the joy of others, there may be other circumstances that ellicit a non-appreciation for something (e.g. a cloudy day? ) I would love to know more about how neuroscience sees this... particularly as Patanjali' s Yoga Sutrss have been around circa 2500 years! ALL LOVE YAWL!!!!💜🌻
