I can't wait t see your full tutorial or explanation of how you unmounted and remounted it . I have the same computer, and will soon upgrade my CPU, and later on the GPU ... I bought mine for 400 euros though, was a good deal on eBay UK ...

Watching this on a HP Zbook g2 with i74810Q got it for free in a amazing state from my bro.
16gb ram and quadro k2100m but im thinking of upgrading the graphics card to a gtx 980 4gb.
    Apparently that's possible.
But even without, very fast laptop, good sound and great for multitasking editing and even this Quadro can play some games pretty good.
    Nice video.

I have a p4000 in my zbook g2 with a 4930mx. I bought it this way and I had to disable driver signing to and force the specific INF have disk method. I have a hacked version of the nvidia installer in order for it to let me install nvidia control center, then I can manually force the INF from the newer versions of the driver package to keep myself updated I think the p4000 I have might have a bios hack in order for it to work on this zbook. All I know is, the p4000 is such a great match for the 4930mx and it runs really cool and fast. These haswell mobile CPUs are still really capable. I can run all of my favorite games.

Nice video, thanks for sharing. I was given a ZBook 15 with an i7-4800MQ CPu and K2100M. I was wondering if I could put that same K3100M you mention in this first-gen laptop to get 4GB of vram?

you don't need to be considered a computer nerd by coding or anything along those lines, computer stuff is split into two categories, hardware and software

I mean they are going for around 450.00 it's going to cost a bit to repair. I would put it toward another workstation if I were you And you need a workstation computer

I believe the next chip is 49** series. After that you can't upgrade.

That CPU can be upgraded to the Core i7-4940MX, but I do not know if the BIOS would recognize it or not, even after a BIOS update. It just depends on the laptop, and what the latest BIOS updates are able to read. The Core i7-4940MX is the highest end CPU in the Haswell chipset though. www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Core_i7_Mobile/i7-4810MQ.html

Here is probably the cheapest from you can find that CPU for, at around $200 with free shipping, from China. www.aliexpress.com/item/32831871427.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.4e14475esklDnm&algo_pvid=188eed33-7dbe-46ab-b8fa-4a57b264073d&algo_expid=188eed33-7dbe-46ab-b8fa-4a57b264073d-2&btsid=0b0a556616209963094355632ebf3c&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_

I think you would be much better off spending the money on maybe a nice Samsung 980 Pro M.2 SSD (if that laptop has an M.2 Slot), like this one. www.amazon.com/Samsung-980-PCIe-NVME-MZ-V8P1T0BW/dp/B08PBFP4NV/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwv_iEBhASEiwARoemvPemATpsF_yngQVNsXH1YXORPhpC6ESk2-g_RVp4WYjVTfyzffyWnxoCPpYQAvD_BwE&hvadid=490218454494&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9025154&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=12190814613984768504&hvtargid=kwd-622701926524&hydadcr=14909_9746142&keywords=samsung+980+pro+m2&qid=1620996935&sr=8-3

Less talking, more doing. Never actually showed removing the gpu or cpu.
