Greetings and salutations from Kentucky. You just saved me from draining and dropping the gas tank only to discover just how easy this fix really is. I owe you a beer, or two. Thanks
WLL PARTNER..you saved me a ton of aggravations..got my cub running..after new blades..belt..gas filter..air filter..Cub wouldn't start Throttle cable got loose..followed yòu ..fixed Right up ..saved $$$$.And pride satisfaction up 💯percent..thanks..
Thank you for your video! The throttle cable on my XT2 got stuck, but thanks to you, within a matter of minutes I knew how to pull the plastic assembly out without breaking it, lubed the cable and got it moving again, reassembled the whole thing, and got back to work. Really appreciate your trouble and willingness to share!
Nice! I just bought a 2014 Cub Cadet and the throttle froze on me driving it home in the back of my pickup and I think it’s broken inside similar to yours. Thanks for the video!
Thank You! I bought the same throttle control from HD, but I re-used the original throttle housing and cable "sheath". I just used the cable itself from the HD kit. I cut the end off the wire and fed it through the original sheath. Then I reinstalled the throttle control and cut the wire where I wanted it to be on the engine side. A video from donyboy73 showed me how to make a z-bend and attach it to the carb/choke assembly. A little adjustment with the screw holding the cable and it's working again!
It gets stuck easy and is for sure very sensible to dirt and dust. If you are a bit handy you could replace it with a metal housed one from Tractor supply.
@@Martinvontirol thanks for the heads up. I got the new part (the whole throttle assembly) and was able to install it in about 5 mins. Thanks for the great video. The part from the dealer was $43 with shipping charge. Exact OEM part.
I luv UA-cam!!! After changing the blades i noticed the belt was about shot, changed the belt, checked the air cleaner and it was time to change it,,, after that i went to mow,,,, and had to charge the battery,,, all night charge and still didnt want to start,,, new battery,,,,, THEN the cable broke or so i thought. Found this video and took me two minutes to fix!!!!! Thanks for posting!!!!
So you purchased a non OEM Cub Cadet throttle control and cable. You never showed how you modified it to fit for the throttle lever insertion or cable length. I have a 2016 Cub Cadet XT2 that the throttle cable broke. I ordered the stock CC OEM part and the throttle cable was 10mm too short. I paid over $60.00 US for the replacement part and discovered it was way to short. Screwed in Vermont and snow on the way. I'd love to know where you purchased your throttle replacement part that fits. Following up, I would like to see a vid on how you installed and wired that LED light bar on your snowblower as I would like to do the same. Cheers!
I put my casters on support behind blower towards the center . I m thinking about casters going through deep snow if you put them on the sides like you did.
In my case, the hole inside the plastic housing has been ripped open. I looked at the Cub Cadet parts side with no find. Any idea where I might be able to find another or what they're called specifically?
I’m going to jimmy rig my own throttle control that won’t break. It’s bs that cub cadet purposely made a plastic housing so you can pay to replace it every fricken year….

Martin, thank you! Seeing the position of the lever in the choke position is all I needed. Thanks again!

Thanks for the video, mine broke in the same exact spot looks like a serious design flaw. The chinese white metal cable isnt helping the cause either.
It worked! Thanks for the video. Saved me money and time.
I feel that throttle very difficult to use on these! Not good quality at all! Great video thanks for sharing

Also I put another spring inside the spring for suspension. To make it lighter. And not ride the casters or skees so hard
great video..I wished you would have shown taking the throttle assembly apart to discover it was broken...
KEVIN it's just 2 snappers you have to pry ooen

Generic throttle cable from Homedepot. Came with a lever for 18 bucks. There are 2 snappers on the round housing. Pry them open. From there its easy

I fixed a ripped out plastic housing by glueing a fitting washer in

Pretty sure that the throttle you installed isn’t the same one you showed from Home Depot.. it was a factory Cub Cadet throttle
Correct, I took the throttle apart and installed a new cable from HD. Small modification as the HD throttle wouldn't fit the housing cut out
Get good traction snowblowing?
thanks
There cheap stuff and hard to replace
Are you Arnold?
