How much weight can the tomato cage/holders take? I often get 100-150 lb of tomatoes of a plant, and even wire cages can bend under the weight.

How fast do you print with PETG? It appears that it requires slower speeds than PLA and thus makes using the new fast print not necessary?

Take a full season to print all that out :). For the labels, pretty much only needed for seedlings. One the plant is established and growing well, kinda easy to tell what is what. No issues? The hose repair is leaking like a sieve.

i like the strawberry stands, i tried to do that with wreath forms and plastic paper plate holders that look just like that lol they worked but was difficult propping them up with three cats! those tomato cages would never work for me tho my tomatoes have grown taller and wider than i am and im 5'10 . i dread printing in petg tho such a headache, i do recommend using a contrasting color for the labels. i made green for herbs and they just got buried in more green even with a bright lime green filament

Recommendation for the last one, slightly decrease the area of the nozzle at the fertilizer so that you get a choke. You can use the Venturi effect to get some good suction from your fertilizer. Works kinda like a carburetor

In a future video I'd like to see you design something that makes connecting 1/4 inch drip lines to mini bubblers easier. An easier system where parts can be just clicked or screwed together, rather than compression fittings. Even dipping drip lines in hot water is sometimes not enough to get them connected. In my garden I use the quad manifolds so I can connect 4 drip lines to mini adjustable bubblers/sprayers with built in stakes. For pots I'll put 1 or 2 sprayers in the pot. I use the Rachio smart sprinkler controller which is compatible with Siri so I just say, "Hey Siri turn on the garden" or "front grass" etc when I want to do some watering. Watering schedules can also be set on a smart phone app. Anyway, the most tedious part of setting things up is pushing the 1/4 inch tubing onto the components. If they could just click together that'd be great

The creality Ender 3 is supposed to be one of the best (in terms of ease of use, not being too expensive but having okay print quality etc) printers for beginners and is currently on sale on banggood for ~£120.

@@rainerschillings6418 I too opted for the Prusa 3S direct fromJoe prusa as a kit form ( I'll buy the next one assembled , tested & ready to go .
Expensive yes but like Rolls Royce cars & engines you get the backup & regular quality updates . Fusion 360 free home user is a reasonable 3D CAD platform to learn on .
Learning to 3D draw & print is one heck of a hockey stick shaped learning curve .. I'm doing it at the age of 71 yrs old after long covid & a stroke.

Re the strawberry plant raiser, if you want to keep the strawberries of the ground, lay down straw to keep the strawberries off the soil. It also keeps down weeds, reduces drying of the soil, and prevents pests like slugs or snails because they can't get through the straw layer to the plant. Straw. it's in the name. :-)

Nice tip. I'll give that a go this year, but my main issues are the squirrels and deer. The deer figured out my fence handle, and they let themselves in

For some uses, sure. It tends to melt at rather low temps when being used outdoors. I have a video comparing the two outside. Within 8 hours the pla part is deformed.

I thought gardening was supposed to be relaxing, so you need a 3d printer and shed loads of different filament and probably the growing season to make anything, I do like your thought process because what ever i do around the home i also try to reinvent the wheel 😊, the major problem i see with these 3d printers is the shear waste of plastic and dont see how all this then gets recycled back to filament as the material doesnt have once its printed a actual recognised symbol for identification.

I love 3d printers, but the problem I see is that once you learn to wsing the hammer, suddenly everything starts to look like a nail. You tomato cage could have been replaced by any branch or stick (like people have been doing it already for centuries), but no we have to reinvent the wheel.

Like the wisdom of your post KISS ( Keep it simple Stupid )
My annual growing of 18 tom plants each year are running up 1/4 " poly prop rope pegged into the 5 galon tubs of compost they are growing & tied up to a six foot high catenary wire strung across the inside my glass house roof.
The ope is slack and as the plants grow simply loosen the top tie point & gently wrap the rope round the stem then retie it so there is still a bit of slack in the rope.
