And yet three of the four houses in which I spent the most time in my years in England in the 1990s had no dishwasher.
We only had dishwashers on 2 legs. Our tasks assigned, mother or father did the washing, I did the drying.
Total waste of money. Washing the dishes after a meal was just done with quibble in our house - still is 😊
@@stephenwilliams1269 Lol, dont act like its a smart move to be poor loser. 🤣
"...and this, Your Royal Highness, is one of the latest kitchens."
"How charming." [Thinks: I wonder what it's used for?]
The best part of these shows was the section where they demonstrated all the small gadgets. You always found that little item that was a must-have for the kitchen, which would end up at the back of a drawer. A sort of Lakeland on steroids!
I could use that laundry hanging gadget.
@@flitsertheoWe had one in our bathroom in 1970, we moved in 1975 and it was reinstalled in the downstairs toilet.
Magnificent 🤗
After seeing this i realized how poor i am compare to 1960 people's
Btw the first dishwasher (that in the sink) is really neat, i wish someone remake it
They were right though predicting that most women would prefer the front-loading dishwasher. Though I think that multipurpose sink-dishwasher was a good idea too.
@@flitsertheo women?
@@bluebellbeatnik4945 At 4:51 they said "many housewives would consider it a better idea". So we don't know if men would consider it a better idea.
in 1960 the yearly income was 45K the equivalent of modern 482K
@@bluebellbeatnik4945 Who else? Men was straight back than and women obey their husbands.
That Mink day bed ( FABULOUS )
You could buy a small house for the price of that sofa.😂
Nice job
The carved ivory got me😮😂
Nice one
Is this considered the Good old Days because many of us were innocent children, and this brings back good memories?
i'll take the cactus garden and the sputnik chandelier. oh, and one of those houses 😁
Now you can buy all that furniture in a thrift store for $5.- ..i must say my favorite gadget was the in sink dish washer/multi tool , far out!😅
Wow no Idians, Pakistani or African in UK at 60's😮
Just white Britts, strange, doesn’t it mate? 👴🏻
at that time, the ideal home exhibition was sponsored by the dm.
Alice, The Duchess of Cloucester looks like a living ghost, she looks so thin, awkward and pale.. and yet she lived 40 more years and died aged 102...
Like she was on heroin
