A shout out to all the respectful posts on this thread because Gary was a gentle soul who always focused on the positives in life and made some memorable music during his lifetime. Rest in peace Gary.
I’m sad to hear of Gary’s passing - someone lent me his Dreamweaver album many moons ago, and I thought it was great - especially Love Is Alive - a great song!
Sorry for the loss of your friend. I saw Ace Frehley recently and he said, "When you get to my age all your friends start sprouting wings and fly away to heaven." One thing for sure Gary Wright left his mark and the performance you shared is exceptional.
When I hear this song it takes me back to 1976 when I was only 10 years old and to this very day it just continues to grow on me. Timeless classic. R.i.P Gary and thank you.
Was a fantastic performance I love him in spooky tooth too First we lost Jimmy then we lost Gary Take care of yourself take care of Ringo and everybody else we're not kids anymore. Have a great weekend Greg
I remember this song from when I was a Kid, Youth, Young Adult and now after having raised three children and almost being an empty nester, whenever I hear this song I still always stop what I'm doing and listen. Its timeless. Rest in Peace Gary, we love you.
Hey Greg, thanks for posting this. And thanks for being one of the nicest, most humble drummers I’ve ever met. Me and my young son met you at a Steve Via gig in Providence RI roughly 20 years ago. You were a treat !! Full of piss and vinegar and just a nice, regular guy who was beyond psyched to be doing what you loved to do. It showed then, and it still shows now. I’m guessing everyone you play with, appreciates the heck out of your upbeat, humble pie attitude !! You’re part of Rock n Roll history now brother !! You Deserve it !! 👍👍👍👍👍
You never think of artists that you have followed over the years, will ever grow old. Then you read of one passing. It's horrible that Gary was stricken with such a horrible disease that ended his life. Condolences to you, Gregg, his family, and all of Gray's friends.
For myself, I like to say that, while we all die, the very best we can hope to do, is to try and leave this world a little better, for us having been a part of it, and, when God shows us others in need, no matter who they are, nor where they come from, that we may lend our hands, our time, and our efforts, to do just that, so that they may never lose the one thing we all wish to hold onto: Hope. From what I've seen over the years, Mr. Wright did just that, the gentle soul that he was. God Speed.
So sad to hear this. I remember watching Gary on Don Kirshners Rock Concert. Loved his music, large part of my high school memories. My best to his family and those close to him.
His vocal sounded fantastic, great tune, I kept waiting for Edgar to play that roll up bass line on the keyboards though, such a crucial part of the song.

"We all die. The goal isn't to live forever. The goal is to create something that will"
Rest in peace Gary Wright.
