  • Jon Cryer was bitten by the acting bug early, and achieved success with his starring turn in John Hughes' "Pretty in Pink." But there was a long period before he had a hit again with "Two and a Half Men," one of the most successful sitcoms ever. Cryer talks about his new memoir with correspondent Ben Tracy.

After considering a multitude of comedic actors, Crier got the
      role. Let's face facts
      shall we? ANYONE
      with comedic talent
      could have easily followed Charlie's
      extrodindany talents
in Comedy, acting, etc. Jon played a
      supporting role, as did
the other cast members of 21/2 men.
      Rather than reach out
      a helping hand when a
      friend is in need...Jon
chose to take an entirely different approach...writing a
      "Tell All book" about
Charlie Sheen. Backfired big-time Jon!! Sheen FANS were
      and still are infuriated
      with the back stabbing, unmitigated
      lack of ethics, taking
      advantage of his colleagues misfortune!!
      Hanging onto as much
      of the Media Spotlight
      from a fellow human
      beings downfall. Wasn't a manager
      employed by Jon
      who should have perhaps mentioned
      that this was so wrong
      Dear Jon on so many
      levels??? Hmmmm?
      Are you WINNING JON?? TLC

Ugh I partially understand why test audience would boo, since during that time girls were still yearning for the rich nice boy to sweep them off their feet - you know, the Cinderella's prince archetype, and Duckie's character was not that. But Ducky was so much more!!! Why oh why girls of the 80s, why couldn't you fall for the outgoing Duckie???? Why boo??? I WOULD HAVE YELLED HECK YEAH IF I WAS THERE.

Loved “Pretty in Pink”. Fell in love with John Cryer & have remained a loyal fan of “ 2 1/2 Men” 4ever. John ranks right up there with John Ritter & his physical comedy genius!! The dance scene in record store from “Pretty” is great. The episode in 2 1/2 Men where Berta’s daughter is pregnant is AWESOME. The odd noise that John makes @ the site of a pregnant lady & his physical doings when the ironing board collapses still makes me laugh out loud. Can’t think of the season(1 or 2) Episode (13 or 17) oh well I’m 84 yrs young so memory gaps happen. Rock on John Cryer & your physical comedy genius is greatly appreciated! My daughter gave me the series 4 my 80th BDay. Comedy at its best at any age. God bless U & yours 4ever!!! Looking👀 forward to old & new from “Team Cryer”. Hugs, drugs & much adoration 👱‍♀️
