Thanks for making this. My gauges look great now. I am pretty confident I won’t have any moisture issues behind the lense. My seal was in good shape. Lubricating it with silicone is a great idea. My seal buckled the first time I put the lense back in. Make sure to inspect the seal carefully after you put the lens back in. If it buckles, you won’t have a good seal and moisture may get in. After pulling the lense off again, adding some more silicone to it and pushing it straight back on, it didn’t buckle and sealed perfectly. Since the crown or outer trim piece retains the lense, this makes the tabs and broken slots redundant. I’m sure GuageSaver would still work fine with the broken slots. GaugeSaver would definitely be required if you have any issues with the outer lense. Luckily my outer lense was in good shape.

Thanks just did it today on my 2004 Sportcraft worked great.I went online and bought 2 lens savers to keep the sun and moisture out when not in use. Did both in less than 1/2 hour! Thanks wasn’t sure why lease was so blurred.

Thank you very much Captain! Very helpful video, I got one faded (and cracked) lens and this will help me a lot. I am going to order one lens. It’s beyond me why there are two lenses inside the unit.

GaugeSaver.com has new replacement Polycarbonate lenses if you need some, but it requires the case tabs to be intact.

My lens is so hard to see through. Wondering if it’s just the lens that’s faded and the led screen is ok

Removing the inner lens would be a good first step. Eventually the led display will be hard to read and need to be replaced also, but that takes a lot more work. After a few years I bought the gage saver package and did both lens and display.
