I think so, I’ll be doing some episode breakdowns to go into the depths of each one
Zuko doesn’t say honor and aang doesn’t even attempt water bending and wan shi tong had no business being in this season but overall it’s like a solid 7
The animated series is still better than the live action series but the latter is still good in my opinion especially episodes 1,2 and 6. The finale was good as well.
Love you but I refuse to support this show cuz they kept Ian ousley casted. They found out he lied about his race and that he follows a lot of white supremacists online well before filming and still didn't recast. I know so many native actors that would have been amazing in the role. Leaving him as sokka was a slap in the face to fans. #notmysokka
Please analyze James Clavell's Shogun and a comparison between the 1980 Shogun and 2024 Shogun
Good season but I don't understand why they didn't let Aang bend a single molecule of water the whole time.
I never expected it to live up to the animated series and they were always going to have to condense a very dense story. Honestly, I really liked what they did, and I'm ok with the changes. You don't have to watch it if you don't like it, no biggie. I hope they make a 2nd season.
And I like it's the grandmother that tells the story of what happened in the 100 years rather than katara.
And the way they tell the story also make sense
As long as its enjoyable who cares. I dont need it to respect the animated versions rules or be as good as long as it’ll be enjoyble - entertaining i dont care
Honestly I can't think of anything they skipped. Hate to break it to you but the original cartoon has a lot of filler.
I watched the first epeisode:
Bending 10/10
Story skipping 5/10
Acting 6/10
The story skipping was not bad, they still covered quite a lot…and ofcourse they aren’t gonna be able to fit it in 8 episoes….Netflix only gave them 8 so
Bending top notch fr. Decent job with everything else until that last episode where they just couldn't stick the landing.
I know the actors are very young but I could not get a sense of actual compassion nor tension. There was no feeling of risk on their faces, but that comes with experience. Other than that I was satisfied. I kept expectations low and just enjoyed the ride.
@@tauntingeveryone7208They have a budget. They couldn’t make a one to one if they wanted to
@@amo_res9266 Its the pacing and overall merging of those stories covered that didn't work
7/10 for me, but the world looked 10/10
The only change I didn’t mind was seeing Ozai mess with Azula’s head. She excelled in every way but he made it seem as if she still wasn’t good enough. I think this was a good start and if we get a season three it will be even more heartbreaking seeing her breakdown.
The change is they actually gave them a relationship. In the cartoon the two don't actually interact with one another. Heck, she literally just gets shoe horned into Season two.
Dallas was superb... he made me believe what Zuko is really like!
Why did they change how Zuko got the scar?! The whole point is his Dad was clearly a much stronger bender at the time and it was insane to challenge his young son. He blasted Zuko's face and didn't think twice. The idea Zuko could have even landed a blow at that age is ridiculous
Plus the whole motive behind burning him was petty it was just a petty move by ozai. Because Zuko was going to his first War council meeting and he disrespected and official. A war meeting and he challenged That official to a duel the official was scheduled to show up but ozai out of pettiness showed up in his place because originally it was ozai's plan Zuko on upon finding out he was going to fight his father he begged for his forgiveness because this wasn't a fight he was going to win at all. And ozai the whole the whole duel I was just walking menacingly telling him you will learn respect and suffering will be your teacher it wasn't about just being petty it was just you disrespected me now you pay the price
8.1/10 for me
It was obvious that Zuko wasn't going to win. Ozai wanted him to learn that compassion is a sign of weakness. Zuko refusing to hit Ozai was a sign of weakness. Ozai was probably going to stop that attack from Zuko.
Yea his father never seemed saddened to burn his son's face and banish him. Netflix " let's make his dad tear up because, he didn't want to hurt his son."
wait what?
@@xtuffcookiexI didn’t see ozai tear up
Casting is ok
Cgi is good enough
Character development and writing not that much 😅
Making the 12 yr old aang into a serious kid with responsibility
The worst decision
Animated series is way better, but the live action is okay 😊
I agree
The animated series is also short in total length lol...
8.75/10 i loved it.. I used to watch the cartoon with my son now i get to enjoy it myself!
I loved the show! Can't wait for sewson two.
I am bummed that Roku did not tell Aang about Sozin's Comet.
He'll probably appear in Season 2 again....
He doesn’t know about any comet, he was murdered before the comet came
@@trisin Roku told Aang of the comet when they first met in the animated series. It gives weight to Aang’s need to quickly learn Water, Earth, and Fire to defeat the Firelord.
Azula was painfully bad. The animated series has her being almost bored because everything was easy. Live action she's just pissed off the whole series.
I think I loved most of this show outside of
CGI
Green screen
And the slow bending
Everything else was great to me
They didn’t use green screen more like those LED sound stages
Really good breakdown, really enjoyed this show, the bending animation was on point..........
Heads up for avatar fans and new watchers
If your gonna watch it blindly and you've never seen the original animated series, I think you might like it
Now time for the real truth, the changes to me were bad, but overall the live action was somewhat good, but the animated series in my opinion is way better😂😂
I completely agree unfortunately. They tried to bunch in everything together where they could have cut out some of less important episodes. Then aang does not water bending in this season
I get why they did what they did, Netflix probably ordered 8 episodes so they had to cram some storylines, or they had a set budget and felt they had to condense the story so CGI quality didn’t suffer
Some of the changes I like, they were faithful yet made it their own.
the story changes are alright, some of them are mindblow like the north distraction 😂 it just needs a lil more complex motive, to me it's too straightforward for mature audience.
Fun Fact: we all are somehow confused about the show.
I was liking it up until about half way into episode 3, when they started to combine stuff and make major chanages.
I was thinking the sameeeee thing especially when they got to omashu
@@newagehero9605Ugh so much wrong there. Some was okay but others not so much.
Dude awesome channel!
I'm gonna give it a 7.5/10, it was definitely good
They did a great job in my opinion zero complaints except it wasn’t long enough lol!!! Great job!!!!
Excellente summary :)
I love your videos and breakdowns! Any chance you could breakdown Armie Hammer's wounds? Great movie that I can't quite wrap my mind around
Hold Up Wait A Minute Azula already knows she's perfect she has Daddy's approval she's daddy's little girl she knows she's powerful she knows she has control. Every time Azula in the show she had complete control over the fights she was dominating she even folded Zuko at every single time they engage her Mobility is Elite she knows she's perfect she knows she's good at what she does she doesn't need other people to tell her that
She already folded zuko in animated show every fight they had as kids.
And she even had their dads approval in the animated series
I’m surprised you haven’t covered the new dune movie
The 2010 version was totally slow in action sequences, story was not in line and the visual effects were poorly done, then comes the 2024 version,I don't know were to begin from, visual effects 10/10, action sequences 10/10 storyline 10/10, the changes made are absolutely close to accurate detail from the moment I saw the trailer I knew it was going to be the best serie of 2024 , everything about this show is absolutely breathtaking, the characters were carefully suited to their roles,it's amazing how much Work you guys put in to bring such shows to life,I don't know about you guys but I can't wait for season 2,I watched season one in just 2days😁 am really itching for season 2.
I loved it!
I think the studio did an amazing job with the visuals and action of this series. I enjoyed the story, dialogue, pacing and good choice of actors! Well done overall. 9.5/10. Way better than the latest superhero stories on Disney+ Marvel or Star Wars.
It's the best! It definitely live up with the expectation.
Hem Gyatso is not Aang's brother, he's his air binding master.
... or you can just let these very great series be and make something new maybe? just maybe
Liked this a lot better than the movie but the anime is still the best of all.
Avatar Kai-oshi 😂😂😂😂
Also I think people need to understand an animated tv show will always do better with some fantasy elements because of how much more freedom one has to create things. I just feel are being to harsh… also for the first season most streaming will not put all there money into a show until they know it will do well. By showing support for the show and love for it, we can help ensure the show get even more money and episodes so it will fix a lot of the things people are complaining about
I REALLY enjoyed the Season, and really want a Season 2.
Can u do a video of the new Apple TV series constilation plz
I'm patiently waiting for Toph,
The only thing I didn’t like was him not practicing the bending from different tribes he visited
I give it a 7/10, the strongest episodes were episodes 1, 2, 5, 6, and 8. The story pacing had issues, I was not too fond of that some lore wasn't explained (even though I've seen the animated) it would have been nice for new audiences to get a better grasp of important story points. The casting was okay, the strongest casting choices were Zuko, Iroh, Aang, Katara, June, and Ozai. Azula I'm still iffy about and Mai is miscasted. I hope season 2 improves on the mistakes of season 1.
please do some CONSTELLATION recaps!
Fire Lord DID show a small amount of emotion hearing about Zuko being at the battle. Saying about Zuko being strong and surviving but if not sacrifice is a part of war. The writers show this as the fire lord draling with the same conflict as Zuko but choosing legacy over all. Saying that he didn't care was not true at all
It's a good start to a tv series. Also they need to stop explaining feelings imstead act them but this might be a actor limitation. Not great but animated show only got to being good around episode 5.
6.5/10 for me. Episode 6 was amazing, followed by episode 2. Everything else was decent…definitely rushed tho. Should have been at least 10 episodes.
The show was really good. Of course the cartoon will always been amazing but they did amazing job
People forgot this is an adaptation of the animated series so if they didn't watch it they don't know about this world.
Also, the animated series had like 20 episodes with a running time of 20 minutes each. So time is balanced.
So nobody gonna talk about the fact that this came out as a movies years and years ago and put it on netflix as a series like its new.
Zuko was the best part of this series
I would say 4/10 for the whole thing cuz he should be learning the water bending when Katara suggested him. Hopefully the season 2 will be full of surprises
Descent, but I'll always prefer the original.
Waiting for your breakdown of Apple TV’s Constellation.
I love what they have done, it's so respectful to the source material, and the actors fit perfectly.
And ofc it could only better than that god awful movie
Shhhhhh. We don't talk about that..
They really missed a big opportunity by not showing any of Aang’s recreational adventures like riding the elephant koi fish, etc.
For a kid who 100 years ago still feels like yesterday when he ran away from home for fear of handling the Avatar’s responsibility, he caught on too quickly to wanting to stop the fire nation. I know maybe he has seen what his cowardice has caused but still it felt like the arc had no conceivable process.
They could have used all those pointless activities he wanted to try as a way his mind is subconsciously using to hinder him from facing his fears and responsibilities as the Avatar.
That would illustrate that he’s still a kid who is still very much unwilling and afraid of being the avatar and having the whole world rely on him.
Then at the northern water tribe after Zhao kills the moon spirit, they could have shown a bloody slaughter of many water tribes benders and Aang seeing again, now in real time, the consequences of his cowardice, surrenders himself to the moon spirit and becomes that giant blue moon spirit thingy.
If they followed this path, I think the actor portraying Aang would have laid more impact on viewers.
Who is looking forward to the ones who live video.
Imagine being the fire nation. You attempt to slaughter all of an entire culture just to get one unknown person. And that’s the ONLY one you don’t get. You spend the next 100 years in panic mode because no avatar from the water tribe has risen. So you try wiping out the southern water tribe, potentially thinking there may be an earth ending avatar just to find out that same airbender kid is still the same 12 year old. That’s such an unfortunate outcome to their plans lol
Would you review the TV show Constellation next?
Still hate zuko scar that looks like paint, they should have made his scar more realistic
It looks pretty realistic...
I really wish that could make the scar bigger. To show that how brutal his father are.....
People will hate. But i did enjoy this show.😊 Had its hit and misses but hey we got cabbage man
In all his glory ❤🎉😂
So did this series did a One Piece or did we got another M.Night Shyamalan?
Mostly one piece. There were some dissappinting elements, but its far superior
I like the Kyoshi Island episode. Love how they replace the giant serpent with Kyoshi fighting the firebenders... something that i wish happen when she appear during her "trial" on Avatar Day...
@@6-dpegasus425 one piece is better
Not as good as wano but nowhere near disaster.
Same!! Her fight sequence and the opening firebending shot with the guys running away were both in my book atleast worth the $130 mil.
Everything else was a decent attempt.
The main issue-other than casting, is the heart of the Netflix version. It’s BARELY there.
Aang and Zuko are ying and Yang. Both motivated by a strong bond, high pressure and overwhelming responsibility and conflicted by their past.
But this is shown well with the actor portraying Zuko. Sadly NOT so well with the actor portraying aang. They also made the decision to removed personal obstacles or flaws from their characters.
Maybe they’ll do better next season 🤷🏽♀️
🎉
Kayoshi
I came here to give you the View and not netflix thanks for the good breakdowns:)
10/10 for me I felt the little kid in me light up
I'm sure they deliberately destroyed quality productions. The director's incompetence is an issue. They pass the important scenes so fast that you don't feel anything. spoiling zuko and azula's core stories was stupid and unnecessary. And of course the casting... I'm sorry but they ruined characters like Katara, Azula and Mai, who are strong and have certain physical features, under the guise of body positivity. Fat Azula? Really?
I think the show was definitely rushed. They meshed episodes together, we didn’t get to see the development of the characters relationship between Aang, Sokka and Katara. They forgot the whole reason why they wanted to go to the northern water tribe to learn and master water bending. Just soo much. Ugh. I don’t mind them making changes but if you want to make a change make sure it makes sense! Hated the wigs looks more like cosplay. Last thorn in my side Aang’s visit with Roku was anti-climactic!! Ugh Roku reaked havoc in that temple in the original! Some goods, the bending and essence of the show.
I missed the roku scene in the temple they made roku look like a clown
@@user-bq5rp9mj6q I know right! Ugh just terrible!
Gordon is now too old to play Aang, because his voice has changed now and Aang is supposed to be a 12-year-old kid.
This show was a 10 for me
Boa✌🏻
I watched the show with my children back in the day. I liked the show. It has issues like any other show. I think they want to see how it goes first. It was way better than the Movie.....that was horrible
So all the air benders are gone, does that mean Aang has to bone a couple hundred girls to restart his people? Lucky Basterd.
Having watched Avatar for the first time, LOVED IT. Now I have to watch the 3 seasons animated series. Never saw the movie. ( heard it was garbage)
Netflix did justice to the cartoon series. But the Cartoon series has some of the best moments in animation history. I envy you watching the series for the first time. I am sure all the OG fans would agree with my sentiment. Oh and I am not even gonna talk about the movie.
Its dissapoting some of the scene are quite poor and acting is ok and cast is a bit iffy
The Kyoshi scene did it for me , the rest could have sucked ass from there luckily sit didn’t
👌👌👌
Kid looks goofy😂
The whole reason why Zuko got burned does a bunch of a series of events Zuko came to the meeting late his uncle had arranged for Zuko to be at the meeting along with the fire lord for Prince Zuko to attend his first war meeting Zuko thought he was disrespecting an official officer and he was it was just out of pettiness that the fire lord entered the ring at the last minute and he begged his father for forgiveness for disrespecting his War plans
Original Avatar used to be funny and kind, now it's just fancy CGI with bad acting.
OK whatever
It's so unfortunate the original creators pulled out because Netflix can't help but try to change everything. But I'm loving the show so far, leaps and bounds above the you know what by you know who.
Heard it is not a good show. Poor acting and dumb dialogue.
Don’t prejudge before you see. People complaining about acting but it’s just a kid after all. And the cgi is a lot better than the most of blockbuster movies recently. It feels like lord of the rings in Chinese version.
Think Story - If y’all are going to “pretend” to be fans of a series to try and get views of its fanbase, you can at least try and get the pronunciations correct. Hearing this guy mispronounce Kyoshi and Gyatso’s names really made me stop watching.
I'm scared I'm scared that this will be bad that's why I'm not watching it at all
If your a real airbender fan and actually enjoy this crap your definitely schizo! it's better than the movie but what a low bar to pass. Actors are all mismatched and overacting there is no comedy and the cgi is terrible, netflix can only shovel garbage thanks for ruining my hopes once again!!!
As someone who actually liked the 2010 Avatar movie is this work watching? Netflix can be disappointing with remakes
Given how low your standards are, this should seem like Citizen Kane to you.
@@_Amit_Sunil😂
damn the casting is pure garbage
It was woke as hell he doesn’t learn any Water bending and Katara seems to be the the lead character as we watch more of her journey than Aangs
The acting and dialogue in this show was so bad…..!!!!
Acting was horrendous and script was childish.
This movie is.........💩,
Wrong.. it's not a movie!
This has to be THE WORST acting and THE WORST script and the WORST casting i have seen anywhere in a while. Even the last Airbender film had better effort than this. Am i watching the same thing as the people who have rated it 9 and even 10 here? Modern media is a on a constant downward slope ever since technology made things easy for us. This is eye candy. All their attention went to cgi, costumes, pretty colors and of course *cool* camera zoom ins i e. How after every supposed moment the camera stays at the gawking dumb faces of some character for a few seconds until it focuses on the source of this amazement. Its just sad that people can form a positive opinion about these things. Laziness produced by easy life leads to poor taste in art.
You haven't watched many movies/series then
Story 9/10
CGI and bending 9/10
Character 6/10
Overall 8/10
They should've make the deadly trio less fat
