  • Amethyst develops its rich purple color in a fascinating geological journey.
The gemstone begins deep within the Earth's crust, where silica-rich solutions permeate through rock cavities.
As these solutions cool and crystallize over thousands of years, they trap trace amounts of iron impurities within their molecular structure.
The presence of these iron ions in the form of Fe3+ and Fe4+, gives amethyst its distinctive violet shades.
The intensity of the color varies on factors like the concentration of iron and the presence of other elements.

Amethyst can come from all over, but the biggest producer in the world is Brazil. You can find it in Arizona too!
