I am thinking of getting myself 944 S2 or 968. How are the backseats? I used to have a 1990 Celica and rear seats were useable for shorter adults and could seat in there if i leaned into the middle like you did so my head didnt touch the roofliner. How is the leg room? Shorter adults/women/teenagers can seat in the back and have okay leg room if you move the front seats forward a bit? I could drive 4 people in celica when i did. I liked idea of getting 944 mostly because i will get back pop up headlights and have feelfull sportscar again, and i want it to be RWD and 2+2. Only other options i have is either MK3 Supra or Mercedes C class Sport Coupe(which is quite a bit newer, but Mercedes will be far less engaging with average shifter at best, but apparently adults can seat very comfortably in the back, and its a liftback just like 944 or celica)
Nicely done. Did the same about 12 years ago for my two small children, although far too big to fit in back now. Instead of 2x new attachment plates (which until this video I didn't know existed) , I asked a 944 breakers to cut out from an old shell . Cost about £20 for the 2 plates.
That was my original plan too. I tried to have the brackets cut from a car by the dismantler who sold me the seatbelt retractors. But he couldn't understand what I was asking for. My next plan was to fabricate custom brackets, then while researching that someone gave me their part number. I still can't believe the brackets were available and affordable from Porsche. This whole experience was my main motivation to make this video, because I know how hard it was to find details on the conversion. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for making this video. Never knew this conversion even existed, and it looks pretty easy and affordable (besides the welding). Will need to do this with mine in the possible near future
I'm not sure what all the exact differences are between the 944 and 924, so I can't say for sure. I would first confirm if the plastic "bolt" is present where the rear shoulder support brackets go in the C pillar.

I'm so glad you found this helpful!
Thank you for the video, this is what I plan when my little one outgrows the Porsche child seat that's fixed with the lap belt.
So glad I could help! Being able to share my 944 with my kids is one of my favorite parts of owning the car.
Thank you for making this video. What is the brand of your baby car seat?
Is there a way to make the roof higher for when they get bigger?
I guess the same procedure is for 924/924s right? I have to do it somehow on 924s And this is mindblowing great!!!

From were did you get the carpet?
