Finally I get to eat the annona fruit after 3 years. I forgot that this annona fruit is the chewy kind. so I do like to keep the tree and possibly will grow more annona in the future.
Hello, you are so lucky to have one growing indoors successfully! It is my favorite fruit. Can you give more details on your growing the plant from seed? Do you take it out when the weather is warm outside? What is the temperature indoor to allow the plant to grow amazingly like that? I would like to have the complete guide so we can follow your steps too. Thank you so much
Thank you!. I got the seedling when it was just 2 leaves. Took care of it in a small pot. I honestly don't do much except water when it dry maybe once a weeknor twice a week in the hot summer months. I only feed it with my home made compost in the spring and from time to time if I remember to feed it a bit of Milorganite. And that process takes 3 years after the third year, it decided to fruit like crazy. This was an amazing journey for me. When I first spotted a flower, I did so much research on how to pollinate it. I honestly think I over did it but greed hahaha so I let them all fruit. I pollinated in the morning and night when I get a chance. I think I had 90% successs rate with this. The temperature to bring inside is about 50's for me. It can take a bit lower but I usually forget about it and ended up killing it, so I keep to myself 50's is when I need to go ahead and do it. It's usually around October time here. Inside the house in my formal dining room is where I keep all my tropical plants. Usually I give it some grow light but this year I didn't bother to set it up at all. I find that they are okay so far. I open the blinds sometimes to let natural lights in but there isn't any sunshine coming through this window at all. They are doing well still. Similar to fall, about high 50's or in the 60's is when I bring them out JUST TO MAKE SURE. The weather fluctuates and it takes a lot of effort to move them in and out with having a bunch of them to move. So I just make sure the temperature is consistent at least 2 weeks. During winter months indoor, I don't water much. It depends on the heat inside the house so I just scratch the top inch and see if it's dry before give it some water. I save my loose tea leaves, coffee ground or even left over black coffee, clean out milk bottles and add to my plants sometimes. I love it so much that I ditched all of my other tropical plants and have nothing but the sour sop and sugar apples. I had some Australian sugar apples last year and got some seedlings from them. I am so excited for the next coming years. They are very sensitive to the cold weather. I forgot for just 1 night at 40's and it was dead. Have a bunch. It's fun. Also I find that if you keep them in a 12" diameter pot at about 16" to 18" tall, they seem to like it and it's super easy to move around and store indoor. I even stacked them up to have more. Lol. I hope this is helpful and encouraging for you. Good luck and most importantly have fun.
Wow, thank you for such a detailed info. I dont think I have such lucky weather as yours. But wish you good luck and enjoy the sugar apples for us!@@fishsaucemama
Hi sis, I bought the small plant from Florida last summer. I hope it grows and have tons of food like yours. how often do you water it? Maybe you should make video on how to care for it?🤗
Hey. Good for you!.. have fun with your plant. It grow fast for me. 3rd year I got the fruits. I water weekly for the first 2 years. The 3rd year the pot is root bound so I had to water every other day in the summer. I just watch foe the soil condition in the first 2 inches or so. If I scratch and it looks wet, I will wait another day or so to water. I'd a good idea, I will try to see if I can put together a video on how I care for it. Thanks and good luck. Most importantly have fun.
Wow! That is awesome! I will have to try growing one myself. I did not know you could be so successful growing it indoor. Nice job!

Wow that is amazing that you get that many fruits in such a small tree. I might try growing one.
I have to feed it with compost and fish emulsion very regular for it to support this many fruits. I will try to grow more. They are good.
