Another question... If you love your idol, why would you want to end their career once you find out they're dating or married? When you love someone, you want them to be happy. Also, it affects their life. How will they support their partner/family?
I think they love more the fantasy their idol represents than they love them, so when the fantasy is broken they can't cope. If they really can't deal with it, it'd be way perferable to get out of the fandom without noise but what can you do...

From a cultural standpoint, Korea has such a huge focus on education/achievement and appearances that it's rare for people to understand deep, emotion-based things like compassion, empathy and consideration. This is a problem everywhere but I find in the near decade I've been observing things from Korean culture, emotional intelligence is very, very uncommon.

It’s very natural for humans to make mistakes (not excusing racism, sexism, homophobia, crimes etc) and date. As much as we love (in a fan way) these artists, they’re human beings who have lives we don’t and will never truly understand. I want all of my favorite artists to be happy, mentally, emotionally and physically healthy and to be in love. That’s what I want for myself and others I care about so why wouldn’t I want that for them as well?

I got close to them to a point that they would let me ride in their van, talk to me backstage and even visits me in my work (Restaurant) 🎉 But I never broke my rule to have any relationship with them. For me they are idol-friends 🥰 I loved them supporting them in albums and concerts and gigs. But I don't want to spoil our relationship by having a relationship and maybe ends up HATING THEM. So yeah. That is how I treat my Idols. I watched them grow and have a family one day. So to Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, WooYoung and Jongho. Idols should date. They're people. Fans don't own them. I believe that an idol that's free to date can be a better idol. They dance better because they know how to use their body sexually. They write better because they have experiences to get inspiration from. They sing better because they feel and can put those feelings into their performance. And few talk about it but a lot of idols are LGBTQ+. I think those idols should be free to date as well and whether or not they're out should be up to them.
as a kpop fan of many years I really really hope for the artists i stan to experience love and life as the normal population because through these experience they will be able to reach emotional and social milestones like the rest of us which i feel is the most important thing and the fans should be able to seperate the artist which is a job from the human this way. in addition, as much as they've dedicated their life to their work and fans they DESERVE to build relationships and have special people they trust to go to at the end of a tiring day just like the rest of us do😊
I feel like idols should be allowed today because they're human but I also feel like I understand why Asian fans not just Korean fans but Asian fans in general tend to not enjoy or like their idols dating. Like as someone who lived in Asia before and experience the difference of how idols are advertised there and how available companies make them come off as and seem. Is very unsurprising how attached the fans get and how that attachment and that parasocial relationship turns pretty toxic pretty quickly in terms of not enjoying or wanting their celebrity to be in relationships or have human interactions with people. And the funny thing is it really does start and end with the companies when you look at groups like twice or blackpink where their company does not push the rhetoric of them being available or you being able to date them you notice that they have a lot less not that they don't have these fans because I feel like every group is going to have those super fans even in the west that are super fans who don't like their favorite dating but they have a lot less hostility from most fans in terms of them being in relationships or dating. Verses if you look at certain companies like sm or Hybe in my opinion where they kind of told that line or they fall on make it seem as if their idols are available and if you can date them then you see a lot more backlash you seem more protests trucks you see people sitting there and throwing away albums and burning photo cards and like crying throwing up on the floor at 4:00 in the morning having complete total and utter meltdowns. When companies allow for the idols to set boundaries and when the company set boundaries I feel like it works better. If anything I feel like with companies are always talking about wanting to get a bit more global and also wanting to have their celebrities come off like celebrities do like internationally and globally that's what they need to do. One of the reasons why I think so many people like Western celebrities whether they're good or bad in terms of the way those people are is because they're allowed to be human. We're allowed to watch them fuck up we're allowed to watch them learn from things we're allowed to see them get into relationships we're allowed to see them be human and happy and do things. And again there's always going to be those crazy ass fans who are going to get way too attached but they'll be far less of them I also feel like it would cause a lot less people wanting to stalk them.

Idols should date. They're people. Fans don't own them.
