I love these long unedited videos. Fishing is my peace and I work out of town for weeks at a time, so these videos get me my fix. They're real, and you've gotten so good at the conversational part. I've gotten to where I dont watch short vids anymore. I do miss the lives tho, hopefully we'll get a live carp video again. Keep up the good work!

Well see you got you some bait if this just after the carp trip. You didn't have much catfish bait then. Just getting started watching, know you caught some cause you dropped the video. Got my popcorn ready time to watch now.
cant help but chuckle, because it seems like when it rains it pours... got you a double, we dont help reel the fish in, line gets tangled, line needs cut, and while attempting to fix your rigs.. suspended line goes down just to give you something else to do! hate to see it, but love the action. ha!

Great video, Justin. Good to see you getting on some fish. Check into crushed asphalt for your driveway instead of gravel. It packs much tighter and has less of a tendency to wash away... # bottlerocket bortz.. lol😅😅

Here’s a cheap tip if you can find someone to do it. Get about 3 inches of pea gravel. Pour down your whole driveway get you mechanical packer and pack it all down and have someone come through and spray it real heavy with some tar. That’ll last a good time for the cost.

Justin you need a large cleaver, a sturdy cutting block and some Kevlar gloves, the carp wouldn’t be diddly poo to cut up. 🙂
I use a chefs knife to just work through the scals then a fillet knife for everything else but the bigger ones tend to be easier with how I do it

Hey Justin. I been following and watching ya for years. I do have an honest and serious question. Why do ya use 1/2 pound sinker when there is no current? Just wondering your reasoning as to why, I may need to do the same. Thank you.
The heavy sinker isn’t needed if I am anchored when there is no current. The 8 ounce sinker does help keep my bait vertical if I am suspending baits while trolling though.
How would you go about dragging baits if you were in a kayak without electronics/contours? Or would that be more headache than it would be worth?
Dragging without electronics would be better than trying to suspend baits. It would be difficult to monitor speed though.
@@KayakCatfish would not being able to monitor your depth be a problem? I feel like it would be difficult to travel along a consistent depth without contours on a screen or map

I don’t eat any fish from my area. Our water is contaminated

How long do u make your dragging sinkers and what weight do you use? Will u be going to the catfish conference in 2025?
My sinkers are 15” and 30” depending on how many snags are in the area. They weight 6-7 ounces. I won’t be attending the conference

Anyone know how to find catfish when the lake is loaded with gar? I've been every weekend for 2 months and caught one catfish 10lb flathead and caught several gar theyre always surfacing around me just can't seem to keep them off the hook
If they're hitting the fly and the larger bait, I'd be putting smaller bait on. Fish will let you know what they want.
Has anyone tried adding a skip or white bass tail to the sumo catfish fly ?
