I think his playstyle also had something to do with it. Like, I played mouse only for the first few months (only managed to pass 3.5*) and the strain was real; you can feel your hand on the verge of cramping every session. I can't imagine how it would feel playing like that for years. Also, just to add, last time I spectated him on osu!, he was playing mania, so there's a chance he hasn't quit it completely (only stopped playing standard mode).
@@HeisenbergBrB I play mouse only have passed up to 8* maps and don't feel much hand strain even though I play very long sessions. I mean what effectively would make your hand cramp? Tapping is largely the same and aiming should not strain your hand much given you have a decent sensitivity (not too low). It is a very viable playstyle.

the thing is, riviclia is already so skilled with mouse only that switching to a more normal playstyle would be harder since his left hand probably doesnt have the same speed as his right
