Hi Oliver, To save the model railway 2.0 project you could always add a section of boards at the door end of the room that lift up on hinges to complete the loop, that way you'll salvage the project without having to completely start again. It'll just need some wiring work underneath the boards but you have plenty of room to do that, just needs some droppers in every couple of meters etc (even then that might be too frequent). Even with a balloon loop idea you'll need to add in extra boards at the door so you may as well go all the way across (complete the loop) and lift the boards up on hinges to get into the middle of the room. That's my thoughts anyway, Model Railway 2.5, no need to go to 3.0 Thanks Russ

1:00 I recently purchased a GBRF 66 TCC Sound from Ac Models in Eastleigh, all was well till got home & tried giving it a run but it didn’t move a mm, no sound either & no movement came from it at all, I tested another train that I have in my collection & it ran perfectly fine so then my suspicions were correct abt that the GBRF 66 sound loco that I obtained is faulty & so I was sold a faulty model,I then go back the day after purchase & ask for a refund but the guy says, oh we cannot refund you Due to our Covid policy but I may be able to refund you by sending the loco to Hornby & wait for their reply & then I’ll let you know weather or not I can refund u, it’s now coming up to the third week of waiting & it’s taking the ps now, Hornby would have emailed back easily by now. Strange thing is he was happy to do a swapsy for another same price Loco but dosnt want to do a refund & is deliberately making me wait, hoping that I will go for the swapsy, I recommend don’t buy from them, I also brought another model few years back & when I got it half way back home I opened it up & it was a complete different loco, so yeah rly great !
looks really nice by chance can we see some other engines on your layout? like flying scotsman, or my gordon perchance? but still lovely layout i must say!

The track not being in a loop is the biggest mistake. Point A to B and the run is over in less than a minute. I can't understand how you didn't think of that at the start of the build.

Its really intelligent to put some gaps to put does hornby boxes inside of it. Thats pretty much Clever!😅

I like the branch line it saved you money and time for build it think about a heritage railways that have locomotives like that and run it
You can make a balloon loop kinda like unlucky tugs layout

@@Lil_PennsyI think run around layouts are more realistic as that is what happens on railways but I prefer loops for running locos.
It is good if you want to review model and not care too much about having a layout
