    Thank you! I am giving my Mom a laptop so that she can in touch with us even when we're not there. She is in her 90s and scared of technology. I needed a VERY simple way to connect that would not require much effort on her end, and that would allow me to troubleshoot anything she might have an issue with. Your tutorial is easy to follow, and, while her soon-to-be laptop is next to my computer I can set this up with no problem!

    so useful and saved me time and effort, not alone money - historically these things have been applications by 3rd parties and you can use for free but after a time you have to pay for them - so this is a big win. Thanks for posting this

    Hi Kevin. I found out about Quick Assist yesterday after a friend asked me to help her upgrade to Windows 10. However, near the end of your video, I got the distinct impression that you can not setup remote assistance if the Windows versions differ. I'm not sure if that's what you're implying, but if it is, I'm not sure I agree with you. The reason I was left with this impression is you strongly suggest that the person with a different version of Windows first upgrade to Windows 10. And, of course they should! But, what if you're Windows or computer savvy, have Windows 11, and the person you are trying to help is 81 years old, has limited knowledge of their Windows 8.1, and wants help to upgrade to Windows 10?

  • @not2busy
    @not2busy 4 роки тому +1

    Thanks for the video. It would be nice if you could combine that with a Team Call so that you could talk to the person while working their screen.
    I find that works nicely. It's faster than typing messages back and forth. Maybe Microsoft could even combine the two apps in that way. 😃
    Hmmm. Using that combination in a Teams meeting, a teacher could even remotely assist individual students with their project or homework using the annotation tool as well.

    • @KevinStratvert
      @KevinStratvert  4 роки тому

      Sure thing! In Teams, you can request control of the screen while someone is screen sharing. I believe this accomplishes what you're looking for :)

    • @not2busy
      @not2busy 4 роки тому

      @@KevinStratvert Thanks Kevin. Wouldn't that be seen by everyone in the meeting?
      Can you go to individuals and just deal with them? If yes, then could I bypass Quick Assist and just use Teams?

    It was a good video but its quite a half looked video. You showed at the beggining that how two monitors look but later when you connected you never showed the other monitor. Specially you never showed how to leave the assist part. I assume by clicking the x would work, but if the person who was assisting forgot to leave then how to close it from the "get assist" part? the personal who was getting the help how will he/she know that the assisting person left the remote assisting window? how to end the session from the user part? . but overall quite a good video :) Thanks

Or is the language Remote Assistance and Remote Desktop talking about the same thing just renamed "Quick Assist"? And do both versions of Windows, 10 and Pro do this singular or triple connection? Again, thanks.

Can you show how to use complete voice control of our PC, not just speech recognition and text to speech, but just to use everyday language to do everything from sending an email to making a video in PowerPoint and everything in between. Is this possible yet? I'm finding "MS Accessibility" too difficult to demonstrate to someone with disabilities and memory and motion problems who want to continue using their computer.
