I use Purple Power. I spray it down and let it sit for 10 mins or so then start washing with pressure washer. I tip the front up so it drains. You have helped me so much. I rebuild the carb. 1998 Mikuni GTS 717 seadoo bought new. Replaced almost all the fuel lines. Sender good shape. Removed tank black crap removed & 2 year old gas. In carb filter Solid with black like tar. Won’t start, no gas in the filter nor lines. Going to find a primer/vacuum pump. Any more suggestions. Thanks Dennis. North of Toronto Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Dennis always nice to hear I helped someone out. You may wanna check the "check valves" , usually round half black/half white in vent line off fuel tank. The fuel selector can be a problem spot. There's also filters in the bottom of the pick up in the fuel tank.
Hey man love the vids! I just got a 95 sea doo xp that’s running really rich. The guy i got it from said someone switched to pre mix when it wasn’t needed so they switched it back and now it smokes a lot still from that mix. Do you think it will clear out when I put fresh gas and oil in?
So someone put premix into an oil injected ski? You don’t mean they took the injection off/block off plate? On a new fresh motor build sometimes I’ll run a tank of premix through first. Yeah it’s bad smoky. It will clear up though once you go back to regular fuel. You may need new plugs after. Or at the very least give em a little cleaning.
Those are not Phillips screws. They are something JIS, Japan Industry Standard. The JIS tip is just a little bit different. it fits in the screw head better. If you look at all of those screws, you will notice a punch mark on the head of the screw, this indicates JIS. I have to admit they are much better than Phillips.

Definitely inspect the fuel selector before deciding to replace it or not. Nice work Josh, I’ve been looking forward to this video.
