realimbored668 that other Ford the Crown Victoria surely didn't! But you are right, must ford's will run, just won't move because the transmission went bad. Lincolns definitely are the best Ford vehicles!
Yes you made a video on the Continental I love Lincoln’s and you should put the crown Vic rims and tires in this car and drive it around!! Please save this car!
Sounds good, these cars are fun to beat on.. I would only drive my continental hard when on the hwy , not from a stop from first gear to second is where you will kill a transmission on these. My transmission never needed clutches or anything but it did have a shudder so I replaced the torque converter and had a fluid leak and that took out the pump.. But was an easy fix, the valve body has the pump in it..so I just put a used valve body in it and cleaned out all the aluminum bits in the pan new fluid and filter and it was good again. The ride is so smooth, you don't feel the bumps it like riding on a cloud compared to my 03 Cartier Town car.
I have one of those 1997 I've had it now for it will be six years this coming April and it only has 132.000 on it I have heated seats also, And Mine is an Original Owner he had it for almost 17 years...
I love it! I really hope someone could save it. Gotta hate seeing these cars getting junked. Nevertheless it sounds really good tho! How about getting some wheels on her?
1996 conti....that hard button EATC unit is worth about $100, the guys with the soft button ones use replace their battered units with this, 96 only will work.
Got you a good name for your channel, " rodknockers and diamonds" just think about it some come in with a rod knocking or it becomes a diamond in the rough lol
jaguar s type I grew up around Jaguars, my dad worked at a dealership from '75 until sometime in the nineties. I love the cars, but I am very aware of that market group. I used to love riding around in E types and XJS with V12s!
Ive had one the contental was the 800 best car ive ever had lasted us and the previous owner 5 yrs of B.C. to sask the. B.C. to alberta constantly was pretty quick for being a essentially a v8 taraus
alb12345672 Me too! I just got a 2018 a few days ago with a 150k warranty. I hope it holds up like my 88 town car currently does; it has 300k and I drive 60k/year on my cars. I'll keep my lincolns over Germans any day
I love how at 2:03 the gas gauge was just like "oh screw it, I give up!"
That engine might be worth saving for a project, also I had no idea those continentals were FWD.
They only fit FWD trans though.
I think it's worth putting some wheels/tires on it to see what it does. It definitely sounds healthy, nothing wrong with that engine.
justsomeguytoyou
I’m thinking the same thing
Its FWD, not even worth fixing!
Not even gonna lie I honestly thought these were rear wheel drive
Past continentals were rear wheel drive but around the mid 90's they went to front wheel drive
@@THRASHDEATH1995 Actually 1988 was the first year for fwd when it switched to being built off the Taurus platform.
This one seems like it's worth saving.
Gotta love those old dot matrix displays in the dash.
Always sad to see these in this condition. Someone's pride and joy about 20 years ago.
Christ it used a full tank of gas real quick!
Might have been a hole in the gas tank
Go for part 2 of this Lincoln, please???

Fords will always run Jay, and Lincoln is a luxury Ford so that's why it ran for you
realimbored668 that other Ford the Crown Victoria surely didn't! But you are right, must ford's will run, just won't move because the transmission went bad. Lincolns definitely are the best Ford vehicles!
Yes you made a video on the Continental I love Lincoln’s and you should put the crown Vic rims and tires in this car and drive it around!! Please save this car!
Damn that engine sounds badass
Adam Correia those intec32v engines are very similar to the 96-98 cobras, stout engines for sure
Why not put some tires on it and see if it drives?.
Safe the engine!
Here an idea. Take the tires off the Ford with blown timing and if they'll fit put them on the Continental.
Avenger 1 i was thinking the same thing. Will they fit?
Cool, put tire's on it and drive it around :)
That thing sounds gnarly
CoinHuntingDrew
It sounds garbled

Put the crown Vic tires and rims on it
Mitchell Martinez YES
love that sound.
Great video sick 👍👍
I'm curious to what's on that cassette...
Was it wishful thinking of the 60's-70's version when you said Lincoln Continental.
So sad to see such a nice ride end up in the junkyard. Even though it runs something is wrong with it, otherwise it won't be there. Still a sad sight.
Save it! It’s still got a little life left in it for sure
That Lincoln deserves another chance! They're definitely not Town Cars, but they are comfy cruisers!
Nicer interior wise than town cars sadly but not correct wheel drive or as large as a town car.
Got to love the sound of the DOHC version of the 4.6L.
This'll make a nice driving machine. Hopefully you don't hafta scrap it. There are other cars in worse conditions that can go first instead
Wash it slap some tires on it change the oil and you'll get $5-600 all day
96 and 97 were the best years for these babies!
Whatever happened to this beast Jay? Hope it found a home!
That thing sounds so damn good
Save it
You know what's sad. That car probably runs better than my pos winter beater. Lol
I have one of those 1997 I've had it now for it will be six years this coming April and it only has 132.000 on it I have heated seats also, And Mine is an Original Owner he had it for almost 17 years...
So you're in 2020?
Will it run better if the exhaust wasn't stuffed in the dirt?
The car started with a full tank and after a few minutes it was on empty
v8
that's normal.
cody kamminga 😂
Please! Put some wheels on it and a muffler a and find it a home.
B17 Flying Fortress no muffler make it a hot rod
are you selling it? and if so, how much?
any chance you could ship some parts to a naval base in the middle east i need a cluster for a 95 explorer and a ac control for a 05 tahoe
Sounds great!
I love it! I really hope someone could save it. Gotta hate seeing these cars getting junked. Nevertheless it sounds really good tho! How about getting some wheels on her?
Jay smart are you going to start up the 1981 mustang
Do a vid on the iroc camaro
By the sound of it NOTHING wrong with the engine sounds quite healthy!
That sucks about the crown vic, but that continental sounds good and might be a good car after all!! A keeper?
1996 conti....that hard button EATC unit is worth about $100, the guys with the soft button ones use replace their battered units with this, 96 only will work.
I'm always shocked that some of these things run.....
Got you a good name for your channel, " rodknockers and diamonds" just think about it some come in with a rod knocking or it becomes a diamond in the rough lol
That one seems a bit too good to be heading for scrap...
Sounds very badass
Had one just like this.
It hauled ass but really expensive to work on.
Anyone else notice that it read a full tank of fuel at first?
Brady Fox I did
Brady Fox yeah look at 2:01
Where can I get a header mount panel
0:46 Jay that was actually funny asf
Do you still have it and is it for sale?
Why the crown did not wheels?
Nice car !!!
Did this one ever get saved
Damn that beast sounds good
The engine sounds awesome. I didn’t think a car like that would be front wheel drive tho
Yes, it has a great traction control system too - it is almost like AWD in the snow. I love mine. Would buy it new today.
I like that Lincoln!
Where is the junkyard at
only 190k?
Show the crown vic next please.
Jay, do you have any corolla parts in stock? I have a 97 with the 5 speed, 1.8 litre
For some reason I dig that continental put some wheels and tires on it and go for a rip around the junk yard, would love to see that
Someone will want that motor for a mustang
A 97 with a tape deck? Definitely marketed to old folks. What size engine is that?
4.6 DOHC V8
E Meyer Thanks.
john dietrich
That's an awful lot of power for front wheel drive.
Sure was in 1995.
jaguar s type
I grew up around Jaguars, my dad worked at a dealership from '75 until sometime in the nineties. I love the cars, but I am very aware of that market group. I used to love riding around in E types and XJS with V12s!
Tow it out of the mud and see if it'll drive w/ no wheels.
I love it sounds like a hot rod, but shot exhaust most likely
Cut cats
Do you know that milage on that vic, nice Continental by the way.
That car is in decent condition i would drive it
Damn I love to buy that car for sure what a beast
What's the plan for this one?
sad to think that you start some of these cars more than likely the last time ever.
motaz1975
Like the last petting an animal gets before being butchered almost. I thought the same thing.
Give us an update on this car.
We crushed it ..
I think you can put any taurus 16 incher, same suspension and cailipers
Put some wheels on it and drive it to 200K. Sell it and you've got a profit.
I-roc t top next plz
Save it lol
Throw some wheels on it and take it home!
Kelly Davis in Macon GA 🦅 2018
So this has open headers?
There’s a continental in my back yard 97
Title, under 200k, good drivetrain, decent shape, deserves to be fixed back up...
Kevin Isam good lemons car
do you still have Porsche?
You forgot the collon in the title to make a sad face, I believe you meant, “ :( “ and not, “ ( “
(Frown represents the sadness of it being junked)
I rarely see continentals of that generation where I live. I see the newest town cars a lot though.
Drive it and take it home with you plz I have one thay run for ever
Lol went to full to empty quick reving it!
Put some tires on it and sell it.
put some wheels on it and see if it drives good
Runs better than my roommate's car!
i woudl keep it and fix it up
Ive had one the contental was the 800 best car ive ever had lasted us and the previous owner 5 yrs of B.C. to sask the. B.C. to alberta constantly was pretty quick for being a essentially a v8 taraus
Works just like new, it could be sold as an old daily driver
Sounds petty noice :D
Good vid, but will you do a vid about that silver impala?
Full tank of gas and no ties life doesn't get much better than that
Those are some fucking cars. I drive one every day, love it.
alb12345672 Me too! I just got a 2018 a few days ago with a 150k warranty. I hope it holds up like my 88 town car currently does; it has 300k and I drive 60k/year on my cars. I'll keep my lincolns over Germans any day
