    The two "Thumbs Down" are from people with no inner feelings and have not a soul.
    Jesus himself, if he was here today, would give two thumbs up. Bold but true statement.

    After watching this simply awesome video of, "Tuba Skinny", I just know I've heard this song before. The interaction of this whole group, and the dividing up of their musical parts, is nothing short of an amazing performance. Upon digging through several shoe boxes of old cassette tapes, I found it. A cassette tape from the 80's I think, called, A stack of 78's "Jug Bands Blow It Out". The second song in on side A is this very song, " Banjoreno" by, The Dixieland Jug Blowers. Playing this tape again through my old Pioneer system, with the base up a few more notches. This song is every bit as good as, Tuba Skinnies version. With John Doyle's great sax, mimicking the jug blowing part mid way through, this just doesn't get any better. Tuba Skinny, just has to be one of Americas, musical jewels. Thank you Tuba Skinny, for doing what you do best, that is, making awesome music.

    Barnabus playing a banjo this time around instead of the trombone, Todd still on the tuba, but he used to play banjo before becoming indispensable on that big, heavy piece of brass. Notice Erika on the curb? John Doyle and Robin and Barnabus gettin' physical to this rousing number!

    Hey guy's and Gals. You play tunes we have never heard in Kansas City. I've been in NOLA several times but never was able to stay very long. I'm a Trombone player from Kansas city. Used to play in the river boat cruse bands.
    Sorry I never heard you live! "Someday I'll be Sorry". That's today! Marvin....

    Worth the while. I’ve played banjo mandolin for decades and this piece for as long, but just haven’t gone here. Must rectify. Rub board does it just right down to the shoe and not too much. Truck out some large potted palms, please.

    hey i just nticed something,the quieter parts f the song where the higher notes are strummed on the small banjo(?) thats the same chords used by the Moody Blue in the tune Minstrel's song,at the "everywhere love is all around/ listen to the one who sings of love,follow our friends,our wondering friends"

    I love John Doyle playing the tuba part an octave up, so Todd can have a rest.
    And is that a banjolin (a cross between a banjo and a mandolin) that Ryan Baer is playing?

      John Doyle is great and I do not know the name of the instrument.

    • @Maltloaflegrande
      @Maltloaflegrande 2 роки тому

      I identified it as a banjolin: it looks about the same scale as a mandolin and has the double stringing and it's definitely a banjo in construction so it must be. But if I'm honest, I don't actually know for sure; there must be loads of punters out there who know more than I do about these intricacies.

      Careful! The sound we hear may vary considerably from in person. Different gear favors some sounds and loses others. I was astonished the first time I heard them live. I actually cried, it was so much more powerful and balanced!
