Sorry but it doesn't make absolute sense. Nintendo ruined Bowser. He goes from being a sorcerer of dark magic who turns Mushroom Kingdom inhabitants into mere inanimate objects like blocks, and he steals the princess so that he can rule over the kingdom, to playing around and acting like Laurel and Hardy...how the hell does that happen?? Nintendo messed up. It's like how Akira Toriyama tried to make Lord Frieza look like a comedic relief villain, it doesn't work!!! Lord Frieza can never be a comedic relief villain, this was a being who destroyed the whole Saiyan planet and almost its entire population because he was afraid of the Super Saiyan Legend becoming true, even when the Saiyans were enslaved by him and were obedient slaves killing civilizations for his pleasure...and now Lord Frieza turns into comedic relief Yamcha in The Tournament of Power and has a play around with Goku! It's ridiculous how some creators of franchises mess up their characters, they don't know what they're doing with them. Smh. A comic relief villain is someone like Robbie Rotten from Lazy Town...Bowser was supposed to be a serious villain to Mario, as serious as Ganon is to Link...Nintendo messed up. They made Donkey Kong into too much of a good guy towards Mario too, it's a mess. In the 1981 game, Mario tortured Donkey Kong and he was kept as a pet and the frustration got too much for Donkey Kong that he stole Pauline...then Mario captures Donkey Kong and sets out fatal traps to Donkey Kong Jr (the one with the white shirt) so that he can't save his dad (the only time Mario was a villain)...and now all of a sudden Mario and Donkey Kong are like the best of friends?? Nope, I don't agree with you Nintendo. And no, I don't like the official storyline saying that Cranky Kong is the original 1981 DK, that's bs and doesn't sit well with me. In my correct headcanon, the Donkey Kong with the red tie, who is the protagonist of Donkey Kong Country, is the same DK as the original 1981 DK.

After knowing Bowser since childhood, I always see him as Mario’s enemy and simultaneously his friend. I mean, no matter how many times he wreak havoc in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario still invites him in miscellaneous activities like go-karting and tennis

I think Chuggaaconaroy said it best when he say that Bowser is the most well written villain in Mario history. No matter where he is, be it platformers, sports, kart racing, and especially the RPGs, he is always the best character in any scene he is a part of.
