There is indeed more brands than Airfix and Italeri that also make Napoleonic figurines in 1/72 Scale, in plastic!!! Besides Italeri, l use the Russian brand Zvezda who has super high sculpting level... There is box sets that actually contain more figurines..
HAT 1/72 also is worth it, depending on what set.
Also the Ukranian brand STRELETS who is unique because they often make every pose unique, and thus offer a lot of pose variety. Strelets also made a wide range for American Civil war... and so does the brand IMEX. 😊
For Napoleonics in metal in 1/72, there is even a few German companies that produce them now. If interested, l can tell which ones...
I had a big bag of Airfix figures when I was starting to collect. They were bought on a Saturday morning and on active duty by Saturday afternoon! No painting was done as they came in the correct plastic colours. Fast forward, I bought some 1/72 minis for a Black Hawk Down wargame in 1/72, and the modern Us infantry (not Airfix)were badly moulded with most having 2mm of flash on 2 of the 4 sprues. nightmare to trim all the soldiers.

Zvezda have another line in soft plastic. They are excellent.
Zvezda plastic smells like burnt offals. Really surprised it's enjoyable
ZVEZDA is top quality. Almost unreal how well the figurines are sculpted... as good as the best quality 28mm figurines. But the price so much cheaper. I would not care about the smell, my wallet does not care either 😂

Zvezda has pretty above average quality miniatures with brittle parts and had released the last new set 10+ years ago. And you are glorifying them as you've never seen products from Italeri, Waterloo 1815 etc., not saying about decent 28 mm miniatures.
Maybe money don't smell for you, that's your own business. But they do for others.
