Good to see you back, hope all is well? Painting soft plastic figures is a challenge, which you pulled off really well 👍 One trick I’ve used in the past, is to give the figure a coat of diluted PVA glue. Gives the paint something to adhere to. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
I play wargames in 1/72 (25mm) and have been collecting models and kits for the Vietnam Era. The 3d print market vastly expands the opportunities for vehicles and terrain, even miniatures. I look forward to your future reviews venturing into the 3D print market. Thank you for sharing.
Yes! you used an ink wash! thankyou. So many youtubers dont ink wash their figures and i think it looks unfinished. Personally I would have used flesh wash or another light brown wash for a figure like that one bbecause black is a bit harsh BUT any wash is better than none. Thankyou for your efforts. Subbed.
Nice one man appreciate the sub! 😄 Totally agree wash really gives a gritting war like effect and I prefer this to the toy soldier like finish in some styles. Good advice I actually got the full Vallejo flesh tone set and the flesh wash so will be putting out another figure painting vid soon.
Those.were.some riff and tuff troops.i dont think they could look to filthy, he looks really cool!!! Ive been repainting some figures as a way of dealing with a break from other things, this guy seemed successful. Im getting better as besides my eyes burning from the paint or staring lol?
Those Vallejo washes do not seem to work well at all. Instead of accentuating the facial features and any fold in the clothing, these washes just appear to smudge and dirty everything. The first figure looks better.

To my knowledge the tube around his neck really isn't a blanket. It would be filled with food mainly rice.
Will remember for next time thanks for the heads up, was thinking of the soviet style wrap :D
Насколько помню ...,гуки, носили черные ,пижамы, а не синие!!
