Great video Adam, great to see and hear the excitement in your voice. Great to see you with your son. Dad dad, mine can do it easy... great you love jeep, I run an old school KJ every day and I love it. Great to see you pick up a 10th scale Axial. Now your rc world gets even more fun and even more money. I love my home converted verted 4ws Capra. It's def one of my favourite. It is an epic rock crawling beast. It's cost about £1,100 so far, but worth every penny. It's all just, great, great, great. Congrats. John
Thanks John! I feel like I've entered a whole new world. The price of upgrades is a bit staggering, but the capabilities of these bigger trucks is wicked!
Thanks for taking us along! I've kept mine stock for long enough, with the exception of huge mudslingers & some brass. I'm about to drop in a HW 1080 I've had for awhile, along with a Holmes 10T crawlmaster, or 21T trailmaster, can't decide on which. Either way, it's an absolute beast that can go ANYWHERE! Enjoy yours man, can't wait to see what you do with it.
I swapped my 1080 for a IDST ESC70. Such a better brushed ESC. It has more settings and they're adjusted with Bluetooth through your phone so no need for an old program card.
I was thinking the same thing when you said it...father and son having fun crawling..that's exactly what it's all about..Nice rig dude..roll on the summer 👊
Thanks for the video, Adam. You have inspired my journey with the SCX24 platform this past year. I went ahead and picked up an scx10iii kit looking for the experience of a larger rig. I look forward to videos with you dialing in the dig and two speed functions. I have been struggling with them.
Thanks for watching! I hope to tackle the dig function very soon. Just havent had time to dig (pun not intended) into it yet. I dont think I am going to bother with the two speed. The gains in wheel speed don't really look significant enough to bother with it.
I enjoys driving RCs with my sons too! Quality time and a good excuse to get into nature. Crawlers last forever on 3S. My one son has the TRX4 Bronco. I am looking to get a 1/10 crawler, this Gladiator is right up there on my list. Thanks for the video.
This is such a fun hobby to share with your kid. Thats how I feel with my boy. I've got a stick gladiator sitting around I have done anything to yet. I've got some parts ready to go on it but haven't had enough time to do anything to it lol.
Awesome pickup up Adam. Looks EPIC Bro. I can't wait to get my hands on one. About time you got one. It's no brainer since you got the 1:1 and 1.24. this pretty much completes the Gladiator collection. Now it's time to get the rock climber goat 1/10 Capra.

Awesome crawl Adam , it looks like the tires might be a little hard . Making memories with your son is what it's all about bro . Can't wait to see which way you go with this one.

Nice!! Congrats on your sweet new Gladiator. I look forward to seeing where you go with this, on and off the bench. My tricked out red Gladiator is by far my favourite truck!!
have fun falling down the 10 scale rabbit hole, it's like the 24 one, but much deeper and more expensive 😅 i went with a trx4 defender blk/blk because of the 2spd and the stock tires are some of the best in the industry (as tested by RC TNT). i have an old scx10 ii though and it's been nothing but reliable, very simple but still capable. i put a fusion pro 2300kv in my trx4 a few weeks ago, complete game changer! i love being able to take this thing off little jumps but still crawl super super slow
I’m on my 2nd Scx10-3 Gladiator. Don’t waste your time with the 2speed transmission. On both of mine I put thicker shock oil in the rear shocks. 40w. Too much twist/squat in the rear. I found the stock tires are ok. I put Hyrax tires on both of mine and added some stick on wheel weights inside the front rims. That and the shock oil made a huge difference. On my first one I did the straight axle conversion and ditched the portal axles. I didn’t notice that much of a difference in wheeling. I did change my motor in the first one from the can to a 35 turn rebuildable one from RC4WD. I found it was smoother running. I’ll do the motor swap soon on my 2nd one.
This is great info. I figured I would program the dig but not sweat the two-speed. I've heard it isn't much of a difference. Good to know about the straight axles! I was looking at that down the line as well.
Awesome video you're making me homesick driving through Wareham I can really go for a lobster roll and some clam strips right now hoping to get some videos and some pictures up on UA-cam you'll be able to see what you've inspired me to build that's always have an awesome day
