I enjoyed that video. Your restoration was spot on. The simple colour scheme worked well. I couldn’t fault your work. Thanks for sharing your skills with us. 👍🇦🇺
When work with wood the breast drill is my favourite, even over the brace and bit. It’s sad that someone let this one get into the state it was when you started your restoration but you did a great job. I like the handle you made, it’s different as are the colours. You brought a great tool back to life so future generations can feel a hand drill drilling into wood, a feeling you don’t get with metal. Well done.
Things you don’t learn from books or universities,.! It is self acquired experience and learning that put you in my eyes at a level of artists,, very impressive skills dude very impressive
In America when one is bored we have a saying, "Watching paint dry". In the Czech Republic apparently you watch paint being stripped. I think it's humourous you say you are self taught, as if there is a school or internship that teaches restoration. Not sure I would choose white for a hand tool that was meant to be used and I would have painted the handles the same color, still another great video and job well done.
Great restoration but please. pleaaaase be careful using an angle grinder like you did at 13:50, that legitimatly made me anxious. Angle grinders are one of the few tools that I've been injured with and ohhhh boy, I didn't know human skin was so...weak lol
I have to be honest ... the two tone colour finish just doesn’t do it for me. A single colour would’ve been better IMHO. Otherwise good restoration job!
