@@chuckinhouston9952 Yeah. I have always heard the Astros speak about situational hitting. Correa once explained that they are not looking for a guy to add to his batting average; they are looking for opportunities to hit in certain situations. Whatever Peña did prior to his last at bat didn't matter. He got a timely hit in a key situation and that's what matters.

It's uncanny how the Astros are never out of an at-bat with two outs on the board. Throughout the season we've seen or heard stats showing their penchant for scoring runs with two outs. Situational hitting, coming back to having that plate discipline. Big props to the rookies Hensley and Pena for hanging in there during those tough at-bats against some great pitchers. And what more can you say about Air Yordan? It's great to see him absolutely smashing again. After a difficult August and September, the young man is clutch bringing home a W for the Astros. This was a very unVerlander-like outing for the future HOFer. I think that layover after the regular season ended had its effect on him. He'll be money during his next start though. Well done, lads. Let's do it again Thursday. GO STROS!!

Alvarez just may be the grim reaper for the Mariners in this series. Mariner fan here, but talk about awesome. Alvarez is a beast and a remarkable one at that. The Astros truly play like a very well coached team, especially when you consider that their starting pitcher in Game 1 needed to jump in someone's pocket that would pick up the slack and win this one. Great game, Houston.

That Pena defensive stop, into the double play at the bottom of the 2nd inning was, to me, the play of the game. I just laughed at how difficult that was. Ball was completely behind him when he got to it, still made the off-balance 360 spin throw in time to Altuve. Verlander escaped probably another run or two because of that.

Over 500 at bats and only 6 home runs in the regular season, but unloads a mammoth shot in the part of the season where every home run is huge. Def overshadowed by Yordans walk off, but still an impressive shot from a guy with virtually no pop in his bat.
