so i have a theory about the whole 50 guides a week or whatever, it's to weed out the useless idiots who caused Kotaku to get this shit storm situation in the first place, it's not about the number of guides, the number is there to give an out for the people working there so legally the company doesn't have to pay them or run into any legal issues down the road, the 50 guides is just to make it so these undesirables quit on their own.
they will willingly leave the company this way, i have seen other businesses do this very thing, hell Elon used a similar method to get people to quit twitter and it worked very well lol.

Well let's face it. We've been saying that these are NOT gamers. And if they now have to play games, and refuse, then we have a huge win of them proving us right.
Asking accountability for their actions from these type of women who have shifted all fault to the "patriarchal system" is a big ask.
Not enough punctuations
"Not why people visit Kotaku" considering nobody visits Kotaku, that sounds like an excuse to do no work. They should be grateful they aren't fired on the spot.
They probably were on the verge of being fired so they quit instead to preserve their pride. It's a mystery why they were not kicked out earlier.
I'd say the reason people visit Kotaku, is to link their inaccurate wiki pages to a source. Just a shame wikipedia has no quality assurance, only political activists.

Within thirty seconds any pretence was always unnecessary. As a game developer myself I feel the bit about the people screaming at GDC is misconstrued, those people that went there are not likely to be the ones that you would have a problem with. Game developers are generally relatively underpaid, we just had a ridiculous amount of developers let go, all because the it would be more profitable for the investors to do so. At the same time investors are currently holding out their investors making smaller studios go under. Meanwhile the people working for companies like Sweet Baby Inc are not affected because they're not hired in the same way and get government backing.
I will also say that I dislike what Sweet Baby Inc does on a fundamental level: Including other races and cultures for the sake of including them leads to bad games and terrible characters. This has been common knowledge for decades, and I'm not sure why they're still doing it.
Edit: I also want to note that most people that go to GDC is management, and most of the people that speak at GDC are there to sell you something.

Not smart at all. Anyone who understands games is going to recognize that it is impossible to write a guide that fast. So the reason their staff are all activists is that anyone who understands the subject won't work there.
The bar is set at the regular number of articles these asshats produce, except now they had to be game-related, not their own personal political opinions.
@@VPWedding pretfy sure anything that hurts kotaku can be considered smart
@@BasedWukong I’m taking the wider view as to why Kotaku ended up like it did. I think it started with bad management, and the woke came second.
The ice cream cone t-shirt mention was hilarious. Like what does that mean? 😂
I feel like I'm watching a wildlife documentary, it's actually mind boggling to think these people gotten jobs and pulled off these "developers" meetings that's just a manipulation tactic discussion in disguise.
And probably get paid more than half of us.
_"Boss tells you to do your job"_
_"Quit immediately"_
These are the people that call us crybabies 😅
Imagine working for a “gaming journal” and being expected to write pieces about gaming ! 😂 the nerve ! 🤦♂️😂
Kotaku: you need to actually work now instead of writing opinion pieces
Kotaku writers:😡
These people are the journalistic version of the stereotypical mall cop.
They don't understand their positions and think they're greater than they actually are.
Imagine having to do your job
I get stressed out when I am not busy at work. 😂
Shocker
I think you are missing what’s happening here. They aren’t being asked to do their job, they are being asked to do an amount of work that is impossible, to eventually replace them with AI generated content.
@@zoeherriot Game journalists are being asked to do reviews about the game (gameplay, difficulty, quality of writing), which should be their job, instead of game "news" about how much melatonin and X chromosomes a game should have and how everyone who disagrees is a misogynistic bigot. AI can't make good game review, it doesn't know how humans evaluate good gameplay or good history, woke propaganda on the other hand is super easy.
@@Gilsao157 you didn’t read or listen to it did you. They are being asked to write 50+ game guides a week. They will never achieve this, and that’s the intent.
I know AI can’t make a good game review. But that’s what you are about to get.
there should be a list of woke game Developers where you don't buy anything from that company or organization
And nothing of value was lost.
Gaming journalists writing about games and not propaganda challenge (difficulty level: impossible)
If only it were games journalist level they'd clear it after some experimentation.
I want devs to take the sound of the screaming and use it for some horde or enemies sound effect in some game. That would be amazing.
'Arm the mob' from CnC Generals came to mind with this lol
I saw someone put in a Serious Sam soundfx over their scream on UA-cam.
What a perfect way for a sane developer to stick it to the crazies.
imagine putting the scream on a horde of zombies chasing you or something. 10/10 would buy.
@@MrSiren52
It's not quite intimidating enough to be a horde of enemies. Maybe like....an Easter egg where you drop a bunch of something in a hole and hear that scream. I dunno.
In the next 20 years we'll be mainsteam.
"-it drove industry-wide conversation". Um, no. it did not. every time anyone would criticize or call out the wrong stuff they would immediately private their shit and then change the narrative i their articles. There was no real conversation between them and gamers.
Upon seeing the gdc scream video,
"Ah they must be trying to summon the mothership!"
I like that they had to say "Over 50" like, that's not hard to count. Could have just given the exact number you know.
The only thing I can think about hearing that scream is: "Look at all those people's reaction to touching grass for the first time in their life..."
A games journalist being ASK to write about uhmm games? That's a wild ask....
Editor: Hey, you gaming journalist need to write about games. Writer: This is completely unfair - I QUIT!
How unethical of you asking me to do my actual job desc?
"I resigned because they told me I have to do the job I was hired to do instead of platforming my delusional beliefs"
gaming journalists weren't writing about gaming for at least 12 years now. I witnessed it all starting before gamergate caught them. Most of these people didn't manage to go into a normal journalist job, probably didn't even get a degree, so they went to gaming because gaming sites lost relevance in the 2010s and took everyone cheap enough.
And you hit on a critical point: They were expecting to use this gig as a way into legacy news media. But all they achieved was to prove why outlets such as the Grey Lady should never hire them: despite being ideologically aligned, they cannot be trusted to do what they are told.
The "talking about politics in Venezuela" (or I think it was Venezuela). That one article the late John "Total Biscuit" Bain on how these were Wanabe Journalists that just saw the video games outlet as a "stepping stone"
Those were sadly the good days. Today it is THEIR PLATFORM and we are to "LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and OBEY" they/them.
@@Marinealver yeah unfortunately
Exactly! As journalism opportunities collapsed with the increased influence of the internet, all the fresh out of college kids with journalism degrees turned to the video games journalism, until they could get a "real job". They couldn't care less about games, they just put their ability to write a readable article to use with the access journalism train of the games industry to make rent.
"applaused" is not a word the past tense of applause is applauded. So if this is another example of gaming journalism is it any wonder they are collapsing?
I said this on Hero Hei's video yesterday, but it bears repeating:
Does anyone else think that the GDScream is Orwellian? Screaming at a singular entity in anger and hatred? Because it certainly seems that way to me.
Sounds like, what was it, the hour of hate? It's been a long time since I read Orwell work.
The gaming journos do sound like the ministry of truth though.
Especially the one that avoided mentioning SBI kicked it all off by attacking that Rambo dude because "it didn't fit the narrative she wanted to tell/"
It's like someone decided to take the "Old man yelling at the sky" meme and reenact it in the belief it'd work as a protest.
Well what face would they put in that 15 minutes of Hate?
"...not why people visit Kotaku in the first place."
People don't visit Kotaku in the first place.
Honestly, at this point I'm starting to think gatekeeping wasn't all that bad.
Who would have thought in a million years that game journalists would write about games, weird. She probably had to quit because she's likely never played a video game in her life.
Can't get past the ol Jump and Dash two button combo.
thank you rev for standing up for gamers against this harassment campaign by game journalists against us!
That really is a cult.
The sad part is that there isn’t one person that writes for kotaku who is excited to actually write about games.
It's a shame. GDC used to have some really informative talks with real world insights into game development and the work flows of various game studios.
