  • www.olightstore.uk/s/XNBFWU. Olight Baton 3 Pro Max is a compact EDC or Every Day Carry torch made of a lightweight magnesium alloy with a 2500 lumen turbo mode.
    More importantly for most people, Olight claims it can maintain its 800 lumen high mode for up to four hours thanks to its larger 5000mAh 21700 Lithium-ion battery. I’ll test its lumen and runtime claims and run through all its features. I’ll also compare it to other similar torches from Olight and other brands.
    I’ve done a full roundup of keychain torches, pocket EDC torches and head torches so please see links to those videos down below. The keychain torch video might be particularly useful for an introduction to some of the terms I use in this video if you’re new to all this.
    If you want to skip forward or back at any time in this video, please use the chapter markers UA-cam creates from the timestamps down below and in the pinned comment.

    Fantastic review! I am a thorough researcher of everything that I purchase. Finding good reviewers is just as time intensive as the research! I would love to see a review of headphones withOUT microphones. It's so hard to find a list online. There are some very expensive studio headphones but its been hard to source just affordable wired (or wireless) headphones without a mic.... I would be grateful for your input. I think this is the first channel that I would fully promote. Keep up the amazing work!

    Nice review. Picked one up in Warm White. Beautiful for indoor use either pointing to the ceiling to light up a room or for night task without blinding white light. I know you said you preferred a little more throw but I think there is still room for flooders in searching for a dropped item or walking the beach at night with the kids. Your review made me consider the NW for the next sale.

      Nice - not tried the warm white version! The Max is floody but it’s powerful enough that you still get some decent throw and yes for EDC arguably floody is probably more useful. Have fun.

    Another excellent video - thanks. For an occasional user like me, I think this torch is far too complicated…between uses, I wouldn’t remember the number of button presses to activate the desired setting :- ) Are you planning a review of more powerful tactical torches, with longer throws? … that would be good to see. Many thanks - Peter.

      Thanks Peter. Although I covered all its functions it's actually one of the easier torches to use. The side switch turns it on and off and it'll memorise the mode you were last in. So in its simplest form you turn it on, choose an output mode by holding down the side switch and then all you need to remember in future is a single press of the side switch turns it on on and off!

    I had a Sofirn IF25A as my sole 21700 light but I just ordered 2 more Sofirn 21700's, the IF22a and SC33. Got both new with batteries included for £45 for the two! not each, which is less than this one Olight. I do have some Olight lanterns and various i3t/i5r but happy with the excellent value non-proprietary Sofirns and hope to get a Wurkos at some stage to try as they seem to be a branch off from Sofirn. Looking forward to trying the Sofirn SC33 5000k XHP 70.3 which seems to have impressed in reviews that I have seen.

      Have lots of Sofirn but not that one yet! Really like them - just wish they had better regulation - I like knowing how long my torch is going to last.

      @@TheTechnologyMan If you are hard on a light it is likely not to last as long whatever. Apparently the SC33 is time regulate to drop off Turbo in the first 30 seconds so they seem to have set it on the very safe side. I also have a couple of SC32 and I like those a lot also but they get hot very quickly on Turbo so I would not use that mode extensively. Same with my 25A which I have set on simple mode which does not even activate the Turbo and I find the 2000 lumens on high quite enough for me but of course good regulation is always more desirable than not but you are always going to want to buy the latest greatest model long before your current one dies so you will have plenty off spares! lol

      @@TheTechnologyMan How do you know how long your Olight will last? I haven't heard lots of stories of Sofirn lights not lasting? I haven't had any problems with mine. I think if it were true then we'd know about it and Sofirn would go bust pretty quickly but they don't seem to be so perhaps you are unnecessarily worried? Why aren't Sofirns failing on mass if they have this terrible regulation?

    The clips on the torches can be clipped onto the peak of a baseball hat and to makes a temporary head torch, i use a baton on a baseball cap when walking my dog in the dark

    • @TheTechnologyMan
      @TheTechnologyMan  10 місяців тому +1

      This one would be a bit heavy for that - but yes I understand it's a nice option if you wear a baseball cap.

      Best is always a tough one - this torch is a definite contender - I find it a little too floody!

      I have a review of the Seeker 4 Pro on my website: thetechnologyman.com/olight-seeker-4-pro-review-the-perfect-torch/. I like them both - but do like the compactness and build of the Baton 3 Pro Max.
