In Canada, USA, UK, big parts of Europe outside Germany picture is slightly different. Please take any ranking warranty or reliability ranking and German cars are not there at the top. German cars are only on top at ADAC ranking. Everywhere else where German capital is not involved: German cars are not reliable. Driven in part by the reduced labor and manufacturing costs offered by China. Manufactured goods are far less expensive and more durable than even 30 years ago.
While the cost of manufacture had gone down due to increased efficiency, the cost of labor to repair has not.
I have a 19" window fan that was $19.95 ( USD ) in 1981 , adjusted for inflation, that is $ 68.27 in 2022 $ That same format of fan can be had today for 19 to 20 USD
A car from the 2000's can easily go 150,000 miles where as a car from the 1970's is worn out at 75,000 miles. A car from the 2010's can go 200,000 miles and still have life.

I noticed they don't use electric cutters or torches in breaking away parts.. they just chisel the scrap metal... It makes a very low operations cost

not the old ones. Mine (W202) lasted for 25 years and 750.000km before I sold it to Nigeria. It didn't have much rust. (actually no corrotion at all until I rented an humid underground car park)
