If I am a Canva Pro user, does it mean that I can use the designs I made anywhere I want even if I just change the colors and font of an existing template that I chose to use?
@@sanpls is it always best to design and save in cmyk for printables or should i just offer an rgb option for my customers? the files just get too big sometimes...?
@@annelikriek6294 Hi, CMYK is best for the printing process, I recommend to use CMYK color. I don't have much experience with printing with RGB colors. RGB color printing will depend on the printer. I have done a few RGB color illustration prints. The outcome is good with slight color changes. But It is alright. But there were slight color changes on the printed document. I saw bright colors on the computer screen, but the colors are not bright once I printed it. If you can do printing with both color profiles and check the difference with your own, the result will be great. You can see clearly the difference between RGB print and CMYK print.

I went on Etsy and saw that most sellers sell large-scale prints as jpg or even png but isn't jpg a lossy file?
Will it print at a high resolution if I save it as a jpg (considering jpg is a lossy file)? I'm obviously going to set the dpi at 300 but it could still just drop the resolution and print pixelated and I definitely don't want that 😂
(Sorry for the long comment)
Hi there! I sell large digital prints as well and they are saved from Illustrator at 300 dpi JPG files :). I've test printed them and they were fine! Hope that helps!
@@SandraDi Thank you so much for your reply, much appreciated!!
I hope you don't mind me asking, is there a specific reason you (and most sellers on Etsy as far as I know) prefer JPGs over PDF for print when using Illustrator? Do JPGs files print better compared to PDFs?
Hi Sandra, which site would you suggest to download digital templates and sell them on etsy or other platform. Canva, placeit or creative market. I am planning to buy subscription so which will be good?
Hi there! Do you mean which platform you should use to create templates that you can sell? If so, I recommend Canva :)
Hey the videos are amazing.. can u help me in making my yearly planner
Thanks so much! You can watch my Canva tutorials which will help you! :)
Super interesting! I've only ever used Canva, but this looks good too :-)
Canva is a great platform as well! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you for this awesome tutorial 💙❤️
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
loved the detailed tutorial... so how do u get ur innovativeness to create such art.... do share where and how did u get ur interest to learn Graphic designing... Much Love
Hi! I studied Fashion Design a few years ago and one of the main courses was graphic design. I absolutely loved it and really explored my creativity when I was in that program :)
If I am a Canva Pro user, does it mean that I can use the designs I made anywhere I want even if I just change the colors and font of an existing template that I chose to use?
This is great tutorial. very helpful.
I see you are using RGB color, do you change it to CMYK when you do the printing?
I really need advice regarding cmyk and rgb!
@@annelikriek6294 Hi friend, What do you like to know?
@@sanpls is it always best to design and save in cmyk for printables or should i just offer an rgb option for my customers? the files just get too big sometimes...?
@@annelikriek6294 Hi,
CMYK is best for the printing process, I recommend to use CMYK color.
@@sanpls thank you so much for you friendly and fast replies. Thank you so much, this helps a lot!
amazing!!!
Thank you!! :)
Hi Sandra! Thank you for sharing this video tips. What is your thoughts using Canva? Which one is better Canva or Ai?
Hi! You're very welcome :). I do love Canva but Illustrator is definitely more robust with more tools to work with. So I personally prefer Illustrator
@@SandraDi I need to know more about illustrator.Your tips are always so helpful! As a small UA-camr, I’ll take all the tips I can get. I hope you will check and subscribe my channel too.Keep up the great work!
@@livefreewithjd Absolutely will do! And I will be doing many more Illustrator tutorials on my channel so hopefully those will be helpful!
Very helpful tutorial Sandra! Thank you so much. I use illustrator and will definitely follow this multi art board size trick you show on here.
Would you recommend starting from largest frame size then scale down or starting from the smallest and scale up?
Thank you for all this wonderful information. I'm in the process of starting my digital Etsy shop and not sure if I should go with Canva or Illustrator. I'm leaning towards Illustrator so I'm not having to pay for each item I sell. In Canva, there is a charge, isn't there? My assumption is there is no charge to sell through Illustrator, other than the payment for the software. Can you confirm? Thank you!! I appreciate all your help.
Hello! I've create AI png files following your instructions - thank you! My 16x20 png (16x20in art board and design) is only 3.7MB - according to research I did for that size at 300dpi (I did select that upon export) it should be at least 28.8 MB. How do I create the larger file? Thank you!
Amazing video! Thank you so much!
Is it necessary to have a license for each font you use? I has no idea you needed a license for those
I'm so glad you liked this video! A lot of fonts are free to use but some are only there for personal use. It's important to google them and research to make sure you're allowed to use them for products you want to sell :)
could I use those images to créate stickers too?
Thank you...thank you...thank you! This was very helpful. I am mainly going to use AI. Thank you for keeping your word. I really appreciate it. Question: Do I have to keep the margins at .05?
You're very welcome!! And no if people print it to size it should be ok :)!
@@SandraDi Hello, Sandra. Thank you for always being helpful. Question: When a customer asks for a size I don't offer, how would you suggest I handle the payment process. For instance, do I let them pay first and get what I already offer, and send them an attachment of the size they asked for? Thanks for your help in advance. I hope that makes sense.
@@faithwoman8 Hi! This totally makes sense. Yes absolutely always have them purchase your product first - then send them their requested size to their email :)
@@SandraDi Thank you Sandra. I appreciate it. Blessings!
@@faithwoman8 no problem! ❤
hi, thank you so much for this tutorial Sandra! i'm using illustrator as well for my etsy shop that i'm going to start and i was wondering if their was a way to make it an editable template so the client, can change the name or date?
I recommend Canva for that! :)
This was a helpful video! I have a question though. When purchasing on Creative Market, do you purchase the commercial or the extended commercial?
I purchase the commercial license :) but it depends on how you intend to use it so make sure to read the descriptions. Hope that helps!
@@SandraDi That was helpful, thank you!!
hi! ty so much for taking the time to share your knowledge. i have a few questions. what computer do you use ? just to be clear, on both Canva & AI you purchase both the fonts & graphics? you are able to load the font also on both programs? ty so much.
Hi! Yes I purchase commercial graphics and fonts and I can use them on both platforms. I have both a PC and a mac but I use Illustrator on my PC!
thank you for replying! i appreciate it
