can you use the MAGIC text to image stuff you create commercially? if I have the Canva Pro? Also in the free trial pro version they took away the Quality slider option... so have to go to the cloud converter. as of Feb 2024 anyways
FINALLY 🤩🙌 Someone who doesn't put every little thing behind a paywall just to get started and actually gives good valid information instead some motivational seminar. THANK YOU 🙏
I have seen so many videos and I must say I have learned a lot but this one is Amazing not to mentioned you are the ONLY 1 who gave a detailed step by step with ratios, resolution, how to download it correctly and transfer files over to Etsy which is whats been holding me back because I wasnt sure. I am eternally grateful to you. And yes I seen the downloaded your Digital Product guide and seen the powerhouse all amazing and informational. Thanks so so much❤
Not knowing the details in uploading my files to Etsy and how to save the different files and the file in the PDF part is what has been holding me back too! I have 100s of saved projects in Canva but I just didn't know how to get them to Etsy I'm still a little confused about mock ups but I'm getting there thank you for sharing this your a great teacher!!!!
Thank you, thank you! Finally a clear explanation, easy to follow. Thank you for sharing this knowledge and giving us all a chance at a better possible income and a new beginning for many of us trying to find a new way! More please. ❤

"Kate Hayes’ video on creating printables for Etsy is packed with helpful tips! Loved how she simplifies the Canva design process and offers practical advice for choosing the right niches. Definitely a must-watch for anyone looking to start or grow their digital product business. Thanks for sharing such valuable insights!"
Great video as always, Kate! Here’s TWO things I wish you had included &/or clarified for us … 1) What about the 5x7” Printable Wall Art??? Does that fall into the “other” ratio category? It’s such a popular size but isn’t listed anywhere in your guide, so I’m confused by that. 2) Bleed &/or Crop Marks - Specifically, when & how to apply them; Should two versions be provided to customers (one with, one without bleed &/or crop marks); How else would a customer know where to cut without them?; Or are they just expected to cut the paper to size before printing & realize there will be a small border all the way around (unless their printer has a borderless print setting)? Sorry for the barrage of detailed questions but I’ve been searching for answers to these questions for a while now & trust you to share the truth. 😊 Thank you for your time & assistance in getting me unstuck!
Hello. Im reaching out for problem solving please. I have set up my Etsy shop with digital files to be edited, however, they don't seem to be editable (seems locked) and I don't know what I've done wrong. How do I ensure they are actually editable? Please help
Thanks for your detailed and informative video. Question: I understand you need to use the free elements/fonts etc to be able for your buyers to edit the templates, but what about the elements, images that you have added to your uploads? Things I’ve created myself or purchased with a commercial license?
When using Canva and creating a 24x36 design, often the elements you add are very small. Then you have to enlarge them to fit the canvas. Is that going to decrease the quality or Dpi? Excellent video, thank you.
THANK YOU! This is by far the most thorough tutorial out there. Can I just ask please - what do we put in for the 'crop marks and bleed' and 'flatten pdf'? Also, can we upload straight to Etsy as 'PDF Print", or do we have to go to Cloud Convert and convert to a different file? If anyone can answer me I would be enterally grateful! Thank you.
Hi Kate, can I use my own photography as printable wall art or doesn’t it transfer well with the resolution and is it only offered in black & white? Is there another app or platform for that?
Thanks you Kate so much for your helpful information and great contents- I’m gonna share it to my teen daughter, keep it up with your great contents Kate
hi kate, im so thankful for this and so lucky to find you here on youtube! i just wish i learned about you and your course sooner instead of buying an etsy course that focuses on making tumbler sublimation which i have no desire on creating at all! so lesson learned for me, choose your mentor wisely.
So glad you’re here friend! I’m sorry the course you joined wasn’t a good fit. We have a free workshop coming up if you’d like to join, we’d love to have you! 💛 www.kate-hayes.com/coaching
Great tutorial, thank you so much! You didn’t mention about selecting CMYK for a printable. You kept it RGB in Canva, just wondering what you select for Etsy digital file?
Another great video Kate. I definitely want to start selling Digital Products on Etsy and using Canva will help with that. Love 🥰 the video and love 💞 Kate.
Hey Kate, I love you content you have been very helpful so first thank you. I am having trouble uploading my filed on my E-commerce site with the downloads (PNG) made from cloud convert. i would just like assistance on maybe something I over looked
Love your content! I have Canva pro but there is not "quality" option for me under the size option like I see in your video. Also I am so new to Canva and designing in general that I get confused with increasing that "size" when downloading. If I already have created the image the size that I want it I don't want to increase it anymore or does it increase the file size--which in that case I don't get the difference. I'm sure I'll embarrass myself here lol.
Hi @KateHayes nice video. but i have a question why you didn't do just 1 PDF file with 2:3 ratio at the biggest size 24x36inch and this file will be valid for all the rest of the smaller format? no need to be adjust for the other size because when they print they will choose the format and if is smaller the print will automatically adapt to the lower ratio. Is not correct what I'm saying?
Hi there. Another question. I was taking a look at cloud converter that you mentioned in your video and did convert a PDF file to a PNG. What I realized though is that I need that PNG file to have a transparent background. Does cloud convert have a way to also give it a transparent background? The designs will be used for graphic t-shirts. Thank you!
THANK YOU! This was a wonderful tutorial. Do you have a video that shows how to start a 2nd Etsy store and what info Etsy is looking for, do you have to use another email address, etc.? Or can you please do one showing step by step process?
You’re welcome friend!! This is a good idea - no we don’t currently have a video specifically on opening a second store. You will need a second email address though!
Thank you for sharing this! But i have a question, i dont have a background in graphic design and i dont know the rules of design and i think that i have to know so i can get more beautiful and professional results, to know about color combinations or about composition and etc…what can i do and do you think? I mean there is some courses on internet about it i guess, but is it enough?
When you download the different ratios and formats, do you download them all to a google drive folder including the PDF where the link is locted? Then you make a zip folder with and that is the only file to be uploaded to etsy? thx
Hi Kate, I'm a student of EIA. Can you make a video on how to link the Shopify store to Etsy? and also Canva digital wall mockups/wall art created on Canva. are these arts we save as PDF or PNG file
Hey Kate - this video is unreal - packed with useful info - thank you ! Just to confirm - you said Canva Pro users can now use the sliders to convert to 300dpi? - i have been stressing over this for a while but am so relieved if this now possible.
I just started following you and absolutely love your channel I am unfortunately one of those guys who takes forever to learn which is unfortunate because like everyone I'm trying to make money to survive. We have a dictator in our country that is just ruining it for everyone to just live in Canada. Having said this I do have a daughter to help also I have made a few Christmas cards to try and see how they do but my true passion is wanting to sell original photos as wall art. But no idea if that's the best way to sell or not. I am 65 but not a fair amount about computers I actually started trying to be an affiliate marketer but it has taken me forever to get going 8 months now and haven't been able to get it going yet but of course, I chose one that I was not passionate about. Sorry, I digress I am following this video to try and get my original photos as wall art but I'm up against professionals. But I want to give it a try. I'm told it takes quite a while to gain a following to make any money. I haven't worked in 7 years waiting for a knee replacement. But it's finally here and I will have a fair amount of time at home to learn. Ok, I will quit talking now lol.
I can't do wall art following your instructions, because Canva has size limits for uploads both for how many MB for the file size and the overall number of pixels. It won't let me upload 4000*6000 files unless I reduce the dimensions of the photo.
@KateHayes - I have an editable checklist/planner pdf. How can I upload it to Etsy so that it remains 'editable'? I cannot use Canva to create a template link. when upload my editable pdf to Canvas, the edit feature is lost.

Thank you for this great tutorial Kate. How many quantity of a single digital file can I put up on sale. Can I put 10? or a hundred maybe? Is there a limit? Thanks in advance for any reply.
Hi Kate Thanks for this wonderful and very useful video. I have already started with selling printable wall art two months ago. You downloaded them in pdf, but the file showed you downloaded them in jpeg. I downloaded them in pdf at first too, But even with the zip folder, it was more than 20 MB which is not aloud on Etsy to upload. So why were you files in jpeg while you downloaded them as pdf?
Hey friend! I downloaded them as several different types (just didn’t show the whole process in the video). If you’d like to offer files that exceed the 20MB limit, use a Google drive or Dropbox link!
Hi, Kate. Do u suggest physical or digital or both. Physical wsll art will earn more than digital?? Total newbie. Still gathering info on different pod item
Hi friend, both can be great. It totally just depends on your preference and availability for your shop. Physical would obviously be more consistent work with having to prepare and package the products. Digital has great passive income potential, you do the work upfront and the rest is passive!
Sure thing! Definitely check out my masterclass Digital Product Powerhouse linked in this video’s description. It’s free and you can watch on demand- will give you a deeper dive!
Hi Kate! I I have had a store on Etsy for 2 months offering Print on Demand, I already have 5-star reviews and I have sold 12 times, now I am very interested in this field of digital products, do you recommend me that I open a new store? or should I continue with my same store and add new digital products there?
Hi friend! Great job so far! It really just depends on if the digital products make sense with your current POD products. They should all be within the same niche, style, or theme, and appeal to the same target customer. If that doesn’t apply, then you should open a separate shop!
