CA has the strictest gun control in the nation. Mass shooting or gun violence doesn't happen because there aren't enough laws. The strict gun control only makes victims of the law abiding citizens.
It's absurd how certain news organizations are voluntarily censoring themselves- _identify the_ shooter. It doesn't mean you'd be "glorifying" him. It doesn't mean you'd be "platforming" him.
Rather, you'd be doing your job.
Report the news. I'm an adult, I can handle knowing who the shooter is. Most adults can as well. _Nothing good_ comes from journalists censoring themselves. You have an obligation to report what happened.

We later learned that the shooter traveled all the way from Ohio to commit this crime, and Ohio’s gun laws are lax as hell in comparison to California’s. Here in Canada, this never happens because the gun laws are uniform all across the country. Whereas in America, each state has their own rules when it comes to guns, leading to a hodge-podge of different rules, on top of the fact that Congress is doing nothing with regards to tackling the gun violence epidemic and the American mental health crisis. And as a result, incidents like these occur.
In 2020, Canada’s worst mass shooting in history took place with 22 people losing their lives in an awful gun massacre in Portapique, Nova Scotia. Following this tragedy, the Canadian government banned several models of guns, including AR-15’s and all other assault-style weapons, and implemented a national freeze on handgun sales, which went into effect following the 2022 Uvalde massacre. Our politicians then made it clear to everyone that there is NO REASON for anyone in Canada to own a gun outside of hunting and sport shooting.
Unfortunately, the USA has politicians who don’t give a s**t about their people’s lives and rights to feel safe, that as a result, the Canadian government had to put out an updated travel advisory back in May for Canadians traveling to the USA, warning them about the American gun violence epidemic and telling them that they need to learn how to respond to active shooter situations-something that they have not asked Canadians to do in the past. The USA took a hard right turn and became more gun-infested during Trump’s presidency, which also saw several MAGA Republicans winning state gubernatorial elections at the time and making gun laws more lax in the process. I went on vacation to Virginia Beach earlier this month and was scared as hell to go there given how lax Virginia’s gun laws are in comparison to Canada’s, in addition to their Governor, Glenn Youngkin, being a lifetime NRA member. Fortunately, nothing bad ever happened to me there, but in that state, as well as in other states that I had to pass by to get to Virginia, I was trembling with fear a lot of the time. But at the end of the day, I would much rather live in a country where public safety is valued than in a country where it is not valued.

Because there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER for people to own any outside of hunting and sport shooting. Canada follows the science when it comes to gun violence. Unfortunately, just like with COVID, the USA does not.

ABC news has a different definition than what the Washington post uses.
The Washington posts definition is 4 people dead no including the shooter. So this by their definition is not a mass shooting.
However ABC labels this as a mass shooting so their definition is different than others.
Another one listed that it could be either 4 dead or 4 injured, not including the shooter.
If there was a standard definition set through Congress then we would be able to truly tell how many mass shootings occur.

You are assuming the perp was a MAGA person without a shred of evidence. In fact, most mass shooters in the last two decades have been mentally ill leftist Democrats. Thus, there is clear evidence against your hypothesis. Now, California has the strictest (unconstitutional) gun control laws in the nation thanks to Democrats. Californians need a background check to even buy ammunition. All those laws were adopted in the name of public safety, preventing mass shooting, and reducing gun violence. Yet, the only thing those laws have done is disarm law abiding citizens. Criminals still have weapons, mass shootings are still taking place, and gun violence is as high as it has ever been. But sure, you keep trying to convince yourself that MAGA is responsible.
If you really want to know who to blame, take a look at the elected so called leaders for these blue states. They are all soft on the criminals. They are too busy raiding the homes of Catholics, letting China set up secret biolabs in California, and using the tax dollars of the people to do everything except what is right.
