After more than 10 Years using Civil 3D, You constantly showing a new / better ways do do something...Thank You so much for making us better Engineers :)
I have imported 3D points from a shapefile. I then drew a featureline to connect the points. I then created a corridor from the featureline, and added my assembly to my corridor. Then I created an alignment from the corridor to generate my sections. Is this the correct order for the workflow? It seems that my corridor does not daylight correctly to my EG. Also, it seems like part of my corridor is at 0 elevation, while the rest of the corridor is comprised of dots at 700' elevation. 700' elevation is my correct elevation. I believe that the corridor at zero might be just the corridor surface that generated at 0 elevation versus my correct elevation.
Charles, great channel. I have imported 3D survey points from a shape file. Can you explain the difference between .shx and .shp? Do I need to select my State Plane coordinate before importing them? Maybe you can explain What each file format contains. I also imported a surface, but LandXML was the only option for the surface that I had.
