another great informative video. Thank you and the team for all of the content you guys put out there. I know it's a tough task, but more frequent videos would be great. I get withdrawals (LOL) when it's more than a week or so apart.
Hellow Jeff. Thank you for these amazing videos. I am a civil 3d student. Where can I get the various templates you use in your videos, because I have seen you have ready made templates and styles.
As always, amazing video! Jeff, how would you tackle showing right-of-way in areas where I don't have existing surface (hence not being able to generate a profile through those areas)?
If you are defining the right-of-way as offset alignments, you could use the "create offset profile" tab to define a profile at the same elevation (or at a cross slope) from the roadway centerline profile elevation. You could then select this profile when placing the ROW marker in your section views. Hope this helps!
Hello! Hopefully I can get some help. Im wanting to show my sections in reverse order by station. So not flip LT TO RT. Rather, how yours appear from top to bottom 3+00, 2+00, 1+00. Mine appear as the opposite but I can not find the setting to reverse their plot order. Thank you.
Do you happen to know if it is possible to draw multiple cross sections but in a specific order and placement not predetermined by civil 3d? I would like option to select location for each cross section, so insertion point would be crown of road so I can overlap it perfectly to existing designer's cross sections. This would be great tool for contractors. Thanks
hey @Jeff bartels I need a help !!!! My corridor is on Hilly road with many turning, in my sample line cross section views it shows all the section which sample line touches the above or below corridor. I just want show the crossection of only the centre line. Is it possible ?? Chainging the lenght of sampe line is so irritating..
Hey Jeff, I am having trouble with my civil 3d looking for different lisp routines than the ones i set up in the file support path. anyway you can help me with this?
hi jeff, best civil3d teacher in the world.i have a problem,i have 100 cross sections, every 50m, (total 5km) in Pline (autocad) and i want to create surface from pline cross sections. i used X-section in civil 3d 2012 befor, but X-Section is no exist now, can u do it with civil3d 2024? i think just u can do this (Pline_cross_sections to surface)
When you say that you typically bring your cross sections to another sheet to keep the scale separated, do you mean you have another cad file, or do you mean you use a different tab?
Dear Jeff, I am a former civil engineer and digital art professor. I bought and Ascent book on Civil 3d 2020 and tried 30 day free download of Civil 3D. I have used Autocad more than a decade ago. At home, I found it slow to start and make my way through the book (hard too follow and hard to read their printed graphics). What is best way I can develop a mid-level working knowledge of Civil 3D? Should I take an online or in-person course? If so, do you have any course recommendations? Thank you. Michael in Fort Worth, TX.
Hi Michael, LinkedIn Learning offers several courses covering the essential features needed to use Civil 3D in production. I recorded a title for them a few years back - can be found here - www.linkedin.com/learning/civil-3d-2016-essential-training/welcome?u=104 For live "in-person" training, I'd recommend searching for Autodesk resellers in your area. They will have Civil 3D technical specialists who can offer everything from basic training to customized personal training. Remember that Civil 3D is built on top of AutoCAD so if your AutoCAD experience is weak, I'd recommend doing a refresher AutoCAD course first as foundational AutoCAD skills are not typically covered in Civil 3D training. Hope this helps!!
@@JeffBartelsCAD Thank you for your prompt reply, Jeff! I tried the LinkedIn learning, but the video quality was poor, hard on my eyes. I could not follow after a while, too hard to view. What do you mean by Autodesk "reseller"? What is a "reseller"?
You are hands down the BEST Civil 3d Instructor on the internet! Love your style, presentation and depth of knowledge on the subject!
My civil 3D skills improved since the day I started watching all your videos, Jeff. So in-depth and simple all at the same time.
The styles and templates you used are great and really helpful in generating the sections! Is it possible to get a copy of these styles and templates?
Jerry you are a man amongst boys. Phenomenal job as always.
Another excellent informative thing! Thanks many Mr.Jeff
Glad it was helpful!
Welcome back, nicely as always 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
You have a great knowledge Sir. Many thanks for your informative and helpful tutorials.

Thank you! I just sent your comment to the rest of our group! Much appreciated
@@JeffBartelsCAD sir i want cross sextion of dam full video plz share link
for the row i believe you can also project afeatureline (w elev) to the section view, eliminates the need of creating a alignment/profile
We need more about roundabout
Dear Jeff, You are great
the best... as always you do. Gracias.
This video is a must have!!

GOOD JOB SIR
If there is any C3D gods in the world, no doubt you are one of them!
Thank you so much! You made my day!
Sir One Detail Video Please.
Estimated Cross Section or Work Done Cross section C-Zone
B-Zone and A-Zone Area in One Section.
Thanks
Superb video.
Thanks a lot
sir, it has been found that the label set is not directly modified in generated cross-section, is it bcoz of the student version or something else?
How can i get your sample model civil3d🙏
When you say that you typically bring your cross sections to another sheet to keep the scale separated, do you mean you have another cad file, or do you mean you use a different tab?
My personal preference is to create cross sections in their own drawing file.
hi. can u create Surface from Cross Section Polylines???
Nice video 👍 im trying to create a similar thing for my classmates
dear sir can we calculate cross section area by autocad 2d software can you make such cip it can be helpful
