Let’s not forget the context of the at bat: Diaz had already used his one TO prior to this pitch. Diaz assumed that he would get a freebie here, when instead he should have just asked Adam “Hey blue that stung a bit, can I get an extra second here?”
Instead he just walked 25 ft away and the rule was enforced correctly.

I'm not sure if Diaz is fluent in English or not. Of course he could and should have said something, and he was fairly called out according to the rules.
But recall the oldest phrase in the book -- 3 strikes you're out at the old ballgame! When you dont get your 3rd strike because you're walking off a foul ball in on the hands, to me it makes me resent the pitch clock. baseball was not meant for clocks in my opinion.

I'm in favor of the pitch clock, but stuff like this needs to be handled better. The clock has shaved ~30 minutes off of games, so surely you can handle a 30 second delay on something like this.
