I love "The Day of the Devil"/"The Devil's Birthday"!!! I served my mission in Guatemala, and it's a tradition I want to keep going here back home. It's usually celebrated on Dec 7th. But yeah, the story behind it is you sweep all your trash out in a pile outside to kick all the devils out of your house in preparation to welcoming in Christ into your home & celebrate his birth. But now it is a little bit commercialized and there are also devil piñatas everywhere in preparation 😂❤️ they're all set aflame or exploded with fireworks (or both) along with the celebrations. It's one of my favorite things about Guatemala(:
I do "mom's Christmas eve gift"...I do a box with pajamas for everyone, a Christmas book, a movie or family game and snacks. Sometimes I include a stuffed animal or new slippers. Then we spend Christmas eve watching the movie or playing the game. My kids look forward to it every year.
Things have changed so much since my boys are grown now 21 and 18. This year we just got back yesterday from Florida, we were there for the week. We took girlfriends and my husbands family. We had a great time, family time with my boys and doing things we love, kayaking, swimming, beach, pool, bonfires. If we would of been home it is the hustle and bustle and would not have had time together, so to me it was wonderful way to spend sometime during this busy season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Guys!
So love these podcasts!! planning to watch each an' every one....... Can't wait to see you continue in 2023....... Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!! ((((((Huggz))))))
For Christmas, my MiL does this ... something you Want, something you Need. something to Wear, and something to Read. ♥ loved the vid. .... don't have any "odd" traditions here lol. or maybe I do just don't know they're odd.
I totally agree with Austin, fast food is extremely expensive. I ordered a pizza from Dominos, placed my order. When I looked at my receipt the total almost $30, and that a delivery charge of $3.50 included plus a tip.
Now that we are all grown. We do stockings for all adults except for my mom and the nieces and nephews. I have a tradition that the nieces and nephew from their first Christmas I get them each pajamas. They are grown but still like getting their PJ's
Thats the same here in the UK ordering groceries through Deliveroo every item is more expensive than if you went to the shop and brought it, and not a little increase some items are a pound or two extra!!
#ChristmasGrinch May all your families be blessed and have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2023!
Tony, I don't know the year that would be, but I think your little boy is 3 maybe 4, so you have some years left for Santa. And after that, I can't imagine what the cost of travel would be. The cost of everything keeps going up and at a fast pace. Just to be safe, keep buying the million+ lottery tickets or start buying.
#thechristmasgrinch yall talked about your wished Christmas traditions, but im curious, what was your favorite childhood christmas traditions or families current christmas traditions🎄💕? Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas Crowd Fam!!!
Tardy to the party because, in all seriousness, my mother was in the hospital and a physical rehabilitation center for a month... and we are just now catching up. Story time. Maybe not entirely a story for mixed company buttt we are all adults. The year was 2005. I was a freshman at a private Christian university. The wing I lived on in my dorm decided to do Secret Santa. (All female, btw.) A few days before winter break, we exchanged gifts in a seated huddle of about 20 girls. When I opened mine- Wait, allow me to explain. I am a tomboy and not frilly. When I opened the gift bag that my wingmate had handed me, I just automatically pulled the contents of the bag out and held it up. It was a red lacy g-string, and the audible gasp and laughter still echo in my ears. My friend said she thought it would be private, so had gotten it as a joke. This was a lot for a bunch of freshman girls at a private Christian college who get fined if they cuss, lmao. THE WAGES OF SIN IS $50. But, yeah, I am an awkward person, and you could hear the shade of red my face turned. Makes me laugh now, though. #thegrinch
Burning of the devil could cause a lot of problems within a family! What I think would be of the devil and making problems in my family would seem different to my husband, for sure!
Also door dash does NOT give the drivers that money in correlation I used to order door dash and it would often double the price of the food and I was like well door dash has their keep and they pay the driver well fast forward to I now occasionally dash and it'll show like a 4 item order total of like 40 some dollars and doordash will pay me 2.50 unless theres priority pay or something and all the money will come from tip that I earn like it'll literally be like my total earned was like 70 dollars and from doordash will be like 10.75 and rest is tips which is crazy because doordash isn't paying gas or car maintenance or even paying dashers like an hourly wage or anything it's strictly just orders and you make squat from doordash per order it's all tips but to tip a good amount for the dasher it then unfortunately cost you sooooo much to order and back when I used doordash as a customer I didn't have a car so it wasn't a situation of "don't be lazy just go pick it up yourself" like that wasn't an option plus it shouldn't be charge you a 1000% or go get it yourself while the company takes all the profit
Was Tony trying to be Sid the sloth from ice age? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 “Pinecones…” lol
